Gold medal for WAproperty manager
WA property manager Kathryn Massey fromMichael Johnson & Co Professionals in MountLawley has taken out the top Australianaward for Residential Property Manager ofthe Year.
Kathryn received the prize last week inAdelaide at the Real Estate Institute ofAustralia’s annual awards and dinner.
In accepting her award, Kathryn saidmanaging a tenancy was more than justlooking after a property.
“It’s about managing the businessrelationship between all parties to ensurepositive outcomes, with the objective tocreate successful tenancies,” she said.
Kathryn said that while the ResidentialTenancies Act provided a clear set ofguidelines in maintaining a fair and equitablerelationship between the parties, how theproperty manager conveyed these rights andobligations was paramount to success.
In her submission, Kathryn detailed howshe had implemented an all-inclusive
‘Premium Fee Package’for clients as well asdeveloping an OwnerHandbook which isregularly updated forthem.
“These things havebeen appreciated by ourcustomers, are
successful for the company and help todifferentiate us from our competitors,” shesaid.
Ian Cornell, licensee of Michael Johnson &Co Professionals, said he was thrilled thatKathryn had won, but wasn’t surprised givenher talent and dedication.
“Katherine excels in propertymanagement because of the caring nature shedemonstrates to both owners and tenants –she fully deserved this award,” he said.

Mr Percudani said as stock levelscontinued to fall in WA, prices wouldcontinue upwards and in most cases,properties were going to attract a lotof buyer interest.
“In the current market conditions,sellers do not need to worry aboutselling their homes because demand isoutweighing stock levels; what theydo need to worry about isunderselling their home – theirstrategy needs to be about getting thebest result,” he said. ■

There’s lots brewing along Mounts Bay Road

The Swan Brewery Co sold it in 1979 forredevelopment, and today it’s a prominentbuilding on the river, rich with history andpanoramic river views.
The venue was re-opened in October 2001,and features luxury residential apartments,offices, café-restaurant and a function venue.
Combining history with relaxed andcontemporary dining, The Old Breweryrestaurant is one of Perth’s premiersteakhouses.

the impressive 1.5kg Tomahawk rib eye steak,shared between two and hand-carved right atyour table.
