Seven is not a very bi g number, and yet, each year, our youth program grows and becomes a little more organized. Like Abraham on his journey, we’re pro- gressing slowly, by stages. In addition to coming to youth events at BKCC, a few of our youth also attend midweek youth events at another nearby local congregation. A flyer brought home listed that church’s upcoming events for y outh, and on the back was a roster of all the adult leaders working with their youth. There were eighteen of them! Eighteen adults, volunteering their time to work with youth; and that was just for the middle school pro- gram. Ministry does not happen without dedicated volunteers. Here at BKCC, we don’t hav e many volunteers working with our youth (yet), but in so many other areas, the dedication of our members and friends is unsur- passed. Folks are always w illing to step up to take care of main tenance and property needs, gardening, cleaning, doing minor repairs. We have an excellent program for our young children on Sunday mornings. Our choirs continue to provide us w ith outstanding music in worship. The offers to prepare food for ourWednesday night dinners are increasing in frequency . Folks show up consis tently to prepare food for Chris- tian Outreach in Action, to keep the stocked with sack lunches for those who are hungry, to pick up litter on the 2 nd Saturday of each month, and so much more. Each October, many congregations traditionally observe a “Week of the Ministry.” Well, I’d like to thank you for all the ministry youdo, the work which makes ourministry at Bixby Knolls Christian Church such a success. And as for our youth program … we’re on our way, and we’ll get there soon!
