Dear friends, The other day I par- ticipated in a Habi- tat for Humanity work project, which was sponsored by the South Coast Interfaith Council. Habitat for Humanity works to elimi- nate poverty housing and homelessness in the United States and around the world. The house I worked on is here in Long Beach. How wonderful it was to work with folks from different faiths, installing drywall, sanding, painting, and – as you can see in the picture – installing baseboards. Soon, a family that has been living in substandard housing – or even on the streets – will have a safe, clean home to call their own. Now that’s what I call bringing wholeness to a fragmented world!Here at BKCC, we seek to be a home to any who wish to follow Christ and experience his wholeness in their lives. With Holy Week and Easter coming up, I hope that you will make time to observe and celebrate this signifi- cant time in the church year – and that you will invite a friend or neighbor to join you. In a world that so often tears people down, it is vital that we tell everyone we can that there is One who builds us up, who strengthens us and who provides us new life. I’ll see you at church!
