Air India has commenced non-stop, direct flights from Sydneyand Melbourne to Delhi. The first
flight on the Sydney-Melbourne-Delhiroute took place on August 30 by thestate-of-the-art Dreamliner aircraft. Agrand launch was organised to cel-ebrate this historic event at the FourSeasons Hotel, Sydney.
Air India is the first airline to fly thenew Boeing-787 Dreamliner into Aus-tralia.
Mr Rohit Nandan, Chairman andManaging Director of Air India arrivedin Sydney on board the first flight fromDelhi accompanied by senior officialsof Air India and the Ministry of CivilAviation, Govt of India. Speaking inDelhi, Mr Nandan said, "The flight isbeing looked at by both the Australianand the Indian travel market with a lotof enthusiasm and hope as it will notonly serve the Indian Diaspora in Aus-tralia and other countries like NewZealand and the Fiji islands but alsothe Indian student community in Aus-tralia and holiday travellers betweenIndia and Australia".
The launch function was attended byover 400 guests from Air India, SydneyAirport, Destination NSW, NSW Gov-ernment, High Commission of India, theIndian Consulate, business leaders,community leaders and the media.

Couplehemistry
So far, Saif and Kareena to-gether on screen before or after marriage have spelt no
magic at the box-office. They are coming together again, now in Raj Nidimoru & Krishna DK’s Happy Ending, though Kareena will fea-ture only in a cameo.
Confirming this, co-director Raj Nidimoru says Kareena won’t appear for a song only. “Saif and
Kareena have scenes together. And we’re planning to shoot a song as well.” While Raj is unwilling to reveal any more details, sources say that Ka-
reena’s role has been written into Happy Ending as an afterthought.
Says the source, “Saif, who is the film’s producer, wanted Karee-na to be part of the film when she visited Saif on location in Detroit. As luck would have it, Raj and Krishna knew exactly where to fit Kareena into the plot.”
Interestingly, Preity Zinta too has a cameo in Happy Ending while Ileana D’Cruz plays the female lead. Raj says both Kareena and Preity’s cameos are for the better. “They both add something vital to the plot.”
Surprise in store
Aamir Khan features in one of the most awaited films of the year, ‘Dhoom 3’. However, he says
he is not thinking about how many records it will break.
Reacting to reports stating that he has claimed that Dhoom 3 will surpass the business of Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express Aamir said in a statement, “I am not interested in breaking re-cords. I am an artist, and what gives me a high is to entertain my audience, to give them a good time, and to satisfy them emotionally.”
Aamir’s last release Talaash was appreciated for his performance, but the movie couldn’t mint too much moolah. The actor believes the challenge does not lie in building numbers at the box-office, it lies in winning the audience’s adulation.
“I want to earn the love of my audience. That is what I am thirsty for. I like to challenge myself and do work that I have not done. I like to surprise my audience. These are the things that I am interested in,” said the versatile actor, who will be seen in a negative role in Dhoom 3.

The ‘Ram Leela’ trailer shows some sizzling chemistry be-tween the odd pair of Bolly-
wood, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The chemistry between them is the USP of the film and the trailer shows Ranveer and Deepika in an intimate position. The trailer also shows them sharing a passion-ate lip-lock.
Ranveer who is rumoured to be dating the ‘Cocktail’ actress said that his chemistry with Deepika in ‘Ram Leela’ is mainstay of the story.
“We were destined to be cast op-

posite each other. It’s a chemistry between Romeo and Juliet. I hope it works as our chemistry is the driv-ing force of the story,” Ranveer told reporters.
When the long legged actress was asked about the much talked about lip-lock scene, she said: “I find it amusing when people ask me about lip-lock scenes. As an actor there is no difference between any scene. But when you are working with Sanjay sir, he makes even the simplest scene most difficult. He tweaks the scene in his mind.”
Sushant Singh Rajput is climbing the ladder of success slowly and
steadily. After receiving accolades for his performance in ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, Sushant has bagged few more movies. Topper Asin Thottumkal was born in Cochin (now Ko-
chi) in Kerala to a Syro-Malabar Catholic Nas-rani family on 26 October 1985. Her father,
Joseph Thottumkal originally from Thodupuzha, man-aged several businesses. Her mother, Seline Thottum-kal, who moved settlements from Kochi to Chennai to Mumbai to live with her daughter, is a surgeon. Asin’s
father named her Asin as the name had a beautiful meaning – pure and without blemish. She states that the ‘A’ in her name is from Sanskrit meaning “without”, and ‘sin’ from English”.
She attended Naval Public School and St. Teresa’s School in Kochi. From St. Teresa’s College she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature.
Asin began her acting career in the South Indian film in-dustry, but now appears predominantly in Bollywood films. She is the only Malayali actress, other than Padmini, who has the distinction of having dubbed in her own voice for all her films, irrespective of language. Asin was ‘numero uno’ heroine of Tamil cinema for five years from 2004 to 2008 with a string of blockbuster hits.
Currently Asin is one of the leading actresses in Bolly-wood and tops the Bollywood Hundred Crore Club among actresses.

Won appreciation from Shabana AzmiPallavi Sharda makes her debut in commercial cinema
with Abhinav Kashyap’s Besharam. Born in Australia, she started her Bollywood career by playing a cameo
in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan (2010). In March 2010 she was crowned ‘Miss India Australia’ in Sydney. Excerpts from an interview: How was it growing up in a country like Australia?
I think Australians are very open to learning about var-ious cultures, which is why cultural communities there
blossom together. I have been acquainted with cultures as varied as Greek, Lebanese and Ma-laysian. In school, we had students from differ-ent communities, and we’d all come together to celebrate the Chinese New Year, or for that matter, Diwali.One thing that kept you connected to your Indian roots?
There were obviously Hindi movies which would play in local theatres, but other than that, my training in Bharatanatyam – which I started at the age of three – strongly kept me connected to India. Every day, I would go to the dance class, clad in traditional Indian saree or a salwaar-kameez. There can’t be a bigger assurance than that of your origin and ethnicity.A childhood incident that had a strong impact on you...
I was once performing at a dance show in Melbourne. After it got over, Shabana Azmi, who was among the au-dience, came up and complimented me. I was awestruck. I had seen most of her movies, and had never imagined I would actually meet her some day. I knew that I wanted to be an actress and I told her that. She wrote to me a letter, wishing me well for the endeavour.Did you pick any odd jobs while in high school?
I taught dance to a bunch of students, and I worked at a bookshop as a sales assistant to make some quick pocket mon-ey. Unlike here in India, such jobs aren’t looked down upon in Australia, but are considered necessary. It was a liberating experience. I felt confident about fending for myself.

Sonam became well known for her stunning weight loss preceding her debut film “Saawariya”. Sonam’s
fitness trainer is Zarine Watson and she hits the gym whenever she gets time.
Sonam insists that “Even 15 minutes of working out is better than not work-ing out at all.”
On her fitness routine, she says: “Cardiovascular exercises work best for me in combination with weight training. Each day of the week I focus on a particular body part, such as the abdomen, arms, shoulders or waist. I do 30 minutes of cardio every day. Two
days a week I follow it up with dance ex-ercises learnt from Ashley Lobo. On other
days I practice Bharat Thakur Power Yoga. In summers, I like to swim as much as I can.
I try to do different workouts and balance them in order to keep my motivation high; plus mixing exercises help burn more calories. I do Pilates at
least 3 times a week.”
Diet SecretsWith her mother’s support, Sonam followed a strict
diet routine which comprised six small low on carbs and high on protein meals. For breakfast she restricted herself
to oatmeal and fruits.Post workout she used to have brown bread with egg whites,
followed by a protein shake and juice. Her lunch comprised dal, sabzi, ragi roti, salad and a piece of chicken or fish.For evening snacks she would have high fiber foods like crackers
with chicken, cold cuts or egg whites. For dinner she would have just soup, salad and a piece of chicken
To maintain a healthy skin and to flush out all the toxins, Sonam drinks a glass of lukewarm water with honey and lime juice daily.

Grand Masti, a sequel of Masti, is another film in which three happily-married men stray in their
quest for fun and adult adventure Dr. Amar Saxena (Ritesh Deshmukh), Meet Mehta (Vivek Oberoi) and Prem Chawla (Aftab Shivdasani) are friends.
The three friends decide to go for the college re-union without their wives and plan to make the most of it by having extra-marital affairs. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game between Robert Pereira (College principal) and the three friends.
Do the three friends kill Pereira and save their own lives or do they save Pereira and put their lives on the line? Do the wives (Sonalee, Karishma Tanna and Manjari Fadnis) get to know that their husbands were ready to go to bed with the women they had befriend-ed in the college reunion?
What follows us is mad fun.
The nakli dawaai of the older film is replaced by nakli petrol: the oil ma-
fia, which skims over the top, and sells in the open market, and which is being investigated by sharp investigative re-porter, accompanied by a hanger-on of a female colleague. That kind of treat-ment was very much of a product of its time. It makes no sense now.
Going by this Zanjeer, Mumbai still has only one cop (Ram Charan) who is capable of weeding out the baddies (his sidekicks are cartoons), only one jour-no who wants to break stories, only one really bad guy, and that one fellow who turns from bad-to-good in the blink of an eye (Sanjay Dutt is Sher Khan).

Ranbir Kapoor plays Babli, a man who truly lives life to the fullest; a charming and street smart car
mechanic who lives in a New Del-hi orphanage. He works and parties hard but also steals cars to support his orphanage and it emerges that he has little sense of right or wrong. That is, until he unwittingly hurts the love of his life, Tara (played by Pallavi Sharda), and ends up being chased by cop couple Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and Bulbul Chautala (Neetu Singh Kapoor). This forces Babli to change his lifestyle and start making amends for his wrongdoings by doing the right things. However, he continues to be shameless in his actions, making for some rather funny scenes.In the movie, Kapoor is joined by his real-life parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor. They will be seen shaking their stuff with their son on dance number ‘haath uthake naache,’ sung by Daler Mehendi.

When Delhi Police comes across a case revolv-ing around hacking, they begin the search to
find a computer hacker who can help them crack this case.
The head of the police team ACP Siddhanth (Manish Choudhary), stumbles across Mickey Arora (Manish Paul), a lazy but street smart hacker who can actually help them solve the case. Mickey runs a grocery store in day time and creates viruses for anti virus companies in the night.
He is also head over heals in love with a char-acter he has created in his game called “Kung Fu Chameli” and will do anything to get out of hard work. Little does he know that ACP Siddhanth ac-companied by Inspector Bhalla (Varun Badola) are tough nuts to crack. The movie also stars Elli Avram and Puja Gupta

Boss is the remake of a Malayalam movie titled Pokkiri Raja. There is a lot more hand-to-hand combat in the action, unlike the aerial-kicks and gravity-defying stunts
that people are used to seeing in other remakes.Akshay Kumar reveals that the film has 12 major action se-
quences. “These days I feel cable fights are going out of fash-ion. We have seen enough of this ‘one punch and people flying 150 feet, taking six rotations in the air’ type of stunts,” he said.
“In Boss I wanted raw and manly action. Like the climax of this film
has a six-minute-long fight that is just man-to man, between the hero and the villain. No sideys or henchmen.”
Akshay says that Ronit Roy who plays the villain, has worked very hard on his body for the film, and does not look like the Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi face that people have been used to seeing.
The film also stars Shaitan fame Shiv Pandit, who Akshay says reminds him a lot of his younger days. He says Mithun Chakraborty always plays his father on screen with a lot of heart; while Danny has been someone Akshay considers an inspiration, as he looks as youthful as ever and works on his own terms with a lot of discipline.

He stands atop a tilted Mercedes car, which is seen moving on just two wheels. The specially de-signed bright golden colored Mercedes was imported from Europe to Bangkok and was modified according to the need of the stunts.
However the one surprising element is that Akshay Kumar has no leading lady in the film. Aditi Rao Hydari is paired with Shiv Pandit and has a small role in the masala entertainer.
On sporting a bikini in the film, Aditi said, “By doing a masala film or wearing a bikini, I am not trying to change my image.”

Shahid reminisces about his struggling days
Acting is a powerful profession: SushantHe is just two films old, but actor Sushant Singh Rajput
says he has already realised the power of cinema, and how it impacts the lives of people.
Sushant, who made his Bollywood debut with ‘Kai Po Che!’, made the confession on UTV Stars’ show ‘Breakfast To Dinner’.
The 27-year-old, whose second movie ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ is doing well, says his source of inspiration is Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan.
“I told Shah Rukh when I met him that I’m an actor be-cause of him,” Sushant said in a statement.
UTV Stars show ‘Breakfast to Dinner’ takes its viewers on a joy-ride as they follow the charming actor Sha-hid Kapoor through his day. During the show, the
actor is seen driving around the city while heading to his various commitments. He reminisces about his struggling days, and also tries his hand at pole dancing.
In the show, Shahid confesses about the sleepless nights he encountered during the initial days of his career.
The day progresses as Shahid goes on to promote his film in various colleges and through various interviews, without taking a pause. While he is at it, the actor gives the viewers an insight into his personal life before signing off.

Great pains taken for a perfect MahabharatThe most skilled people were cho-
sen to make the narration of Ma-habharat perfect on TV. The sets, costumes and the action sequences are all set to take you back in time.
Nidhi Yasha, the costume design-er for this grand program, says “Not once, not twice but around twenty times we have styled the characters.”
The man behind the spectacular action sequences, Ram Shetty says “You must have never come across an action scene of this stature before.”
Kumud hides Saras’presence in house
Kumud and Pramad’s marital life has been a mess, and Pramad
has been behaving very badly with Kumud. This has irked Saras no end, and he has promised to stay back in the house till things im-prove between them.

Raj confesses his love to SaRitaIn Punar Vivah Ek Nayi Umeed, Sarita and Raj’s lives
have become a lot more complicated with them confess-ing their love to each other. After being married for 10 years they decided they had waited long enough and they should just separate so at least Raj can get married to his love Divya. Both husband and wife agree, they will sepa-rate after all. Raj will find a good husband for Sarita and then they can both get married to other people and live happily ever after.
After this decision, the couple decide to remain friends until they separate. The friendship started to grow into mu-tual love. Sarita who was in fact in love with Raj agrees to separate from him so that he shall remain happy.
After Bade Achhe Lag-gte Hain, which recent-
ly moved forward by seven years, producer Ekta Kapoor is now focusing on the im-pending leap of around 20 years in Pavitra Rishta.
Ankita Lokhande, who plays protagonist Archana, will play her own granddaughter in the show. According to sources, she agreed to return to the show on the condition that the story will focus on her and she would get to play a younger character.

Shukracharya (Darshan Gandas) is trying his best to explain Andhak
(Manav Gohil) about how wrong his love is towards Parvati (Pooja Bose). But Andhak who proudly blows his own trumpet assures him that he will manage to defeat Mahadev (Mohit Raina) and get her to love him back.
Shukracharya after unsuccessful attempts finally warns him that if Adi Shakti (Parvati) would even get a whiff of this, she herself would kill him.
Shiv visits Andhak and explains to him about the consequences of lov-ing his wife Parvati but Andhak refus-es to budge and instead goes on to challenge him. This is when Mahadev and Parvati take the strong step of fi-nally killing Andhak.
Commenting on the track, Manav Gohil said, “Andhak will finally get a taste of his own medicine. This will be a lesson that at the end negativity will get eradicated from society.”

Girl set to tie the knot in prison cellTara, an energetic, independent girl, agrees
to marry a wealthy boy, Mrityunjay, to save her family from an impending financial crisis. Little does she know that Mrityunjay is in pris-on and awaiting verdict on rape and murder charges. and will decide the fate of the two lov-ers, Antara and Raghu. Shilpa says, “I have been waiting to play a negative role for quite some time now. The role of Daya Maayi is unlike the usual vamps you would see on television. She does not involve in kitchen politics but is a strong and committed woman who would go to any lengths to get her job done. She has a lot of interesting shades to her and I am happy to be able to portray such a powerful character.”

suggests – It is presented in an aggressive style that knocks at the viewer’s door with the biggest storiesThe show is modelled around the traditional style of a news bulletin and analyses every story ranging from politics to sports from the relevance and impact for the end viewer.
PTC alliance garners 1.5 lakh SMSSTechzone has entered into a stra-
tegic alliance with PTC Punjabi to provide a platform for direct inter-
action with audience for the channel by offering Techzone’s short code 56060.
With this alliance, PTC Punjabi aims to engage audience across various parts of the country and interact with them via SMS services, programme-re-lated activities (MYSMS, PTT), contests such as opinion polls/ voting and sub-scription-based services (News, Astrol-ogy, Jokes, etc.). This is vital for the channel to gain an insight into their audience’s mind and understand their likes and dislikes.
Around 1.5 lakh SMS subscriptions are claimed to have been received between October 2012 and March 2013. PTC Music Awards garnered 28,500 SMS hits, PTC Film Awards re-ceived 14,000 SMS hits, while the Miss PTC Punjabi Beauty & Talent Pageant got 16, 000 SMS hits.
Speaking about the alliance, Ra-jiee M Shinde, CEO & Director, PTC Network said, “Interactive marketing enhances viewer engagement with the channel and SMS and other VAS services offered by Techzone help us to that aspect. We are looking at more such interactive services and this strengthening our relationship with our ardent viewers who seek us out, plat-form irrespective.”

MethodLightly coat the sausages with corn-flour and set aside. Mix the refined flour, cornmeal, baking soda, salt, paprika powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and garlic in a bowl. Add two cups of water and whisk well to make a thick batter.Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the cornflour coated sausages in the flour mixture and deep-fry till golden. Drain on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and mustard sauce.

IngredIents•Bottle gourd (lauki/doodhi), grated 2 cups•Ghee for greasing •Milk 2 cups•Khoya/mawa 11/2 cups•Mixed nuts,chopped 1/2 cup•Sugar 1/2 cup•Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
MethodGrease an aluminum tray with suffi-cient ghee. Boil milk in a deep non-stick pan. Add grated bottle gourd and mix. Add khoya, half the chopped nuts and sugar. Mix well and cook for five to ten minutes. Remove from heat, pour into the greased tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle cardamom powder and remaining chopped nuts and set aside for an hour. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
