Zindagi na Milegi DobaraJANUARY 26

It is a 2011 Indian coming-of-age film, directed

by Zoya Akhtar. The theme of the film is, three

guys on the verge of making commitments in

life.

The story follows Arjun, Imraan and Kabir,

who have been inseparable since their

childhood. They set off to Spain

on a bachelor trip and

meet Laila, who falls in love with Arjun and

helps him overcome his problem of

workaholism. Kabir and his fiancée experience

significant misunderstanding in the meanwhile,

which they soon overcome. After solving the

problem, the three friends go to locations in the

country where each friend chooses a sport

for the group to attempt. Running with the bulls

is a major attraction of the film.

DabanggJANUARY 21

Dabangg, a 2010 action film, marks the de-

but of Sonakshi as an actor, Arbaaz as

producer and Abhinav Kashyap as director.

Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) a cop beats up

gang of robbers, recovers the money and

keeps it for himself. Chulbul, who calls himself

“Robin Hood” Pandey, lives with his family and

does not have a good relationship with his

stepfather and Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan). Chulbul

falls in love with a girl named Rajo (Sonakshi

Sinha), whom he chances upon during a po-

lice encounter.

His encounters with a goon called Chedi Singh

(Sonu Sood) make up the rest of the film.

Malaika Arora Khan’s item number “Munni

Badnaam Hui” became a rage.


Actor Irrfan has earned critical acclaim

for his work and proven his versatility

and acting mettle with his recent works.

But being chosen by the masses for an

award is something that leaves him sur-

prised.

The 50-year-old was given the CNN-IBN

Indian Of The Year 2012 award for his con-

tribution to the world of entertainment. He

was acknowledged for his work in "Paan

Singh Tomar", as well as Hollywood

projects "The Amazing Spider-Man" and

"Life Of Pi" this year.

The actor, who competed with the likes

of Ranbir Kapoor, Sridevi, Vidya Balan,

Aamir Khan, S.S Rajamouli and the team of

"Satyamev Jayate", feels honoured.

"This award is precious for me because

the kind of nominations it had and the fact

that the voting was done by public. I was

never sure that I will get an award. The

audience chose me and that was a really

pleasant surprise." Irrfan said.

"Certain awards give you happiness and

we desperately need awards which have

weight - the sanctity of an award and in-

tegrity of an award," he added.

Sonam Kapoor has been shooting for

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in Rajasthan and

Delhi for last one month. In fact, when the

trailer came out, Sonam and Farhan Akhtar

were shooting for the film.

A source says, "After seeing Farhan as

Milkha Singh, Sonam has been flooded with

requests. All her friends and extended fam-

ily have become fans of Farhan and they

wanted to meet him." In fact, the source

says, that Sonam even began teasing

Farhan about this. "Sonam changed her dis-

play picture on one of the chat groups on

her phone to a picture of Farhan from the

film. Her phone didn't stop ringing after that,"

the source adds.

The source says, "About 32 people came

on the sets and met Farhan. He spent time

with all of them," adding that Sonam explained

to her friends all that Farhan did to achieve

this look. "Sonam really looks up to Farhan

because of the amount of hard work he put

in for this film," the source says.She may have not been able to make her

presence felt on the silver screen the

way audience expected her to post

Actress Rani Mukerji says she is

honoured to have shared screen

space with the three Khans of the indus-

try - Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman - and

hopes it continues in future too.

"It's a great honour to work with them

in any film and I have always said that I

always learn from them because I started

my career with them and hopefully this

association with all the three Khans will

be there for a long time," the 34-year-old

said at the success party of her latest film

"Talaash".

Rani adds that more than just films, it is

her personal bond with them that matters.

"Hopefully, I will be acting with them

built with them over the years and I hope

Shahid Kapoor has always been keen to learn new things

and recently when his house needed a renovation he de-

arhan Akhtar was born on 9 January 1974 in

Mumbai to screenwriters Javed Akhtar and

Honey Irani. His stepmother is the actress

Shabana Azmi. He is also cousin of Bollywood

ace choreographer and now director Farah

Khan. Farhan was the main lead in his twin

sister, Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut Luck

By Chance.

A script writer, singer, writer, director apart from

being an actor, Farhan entered Bollywood at the age of

17, assisting directors and cinematographers. He

dropped out of college and did various jobs like working

for a TV production house and setting up his own pro-

duction house, Excel Entertainment with childhood friend

Ritesh Sidhwani.

Farhan made his directo-

rial debut with 2001's hit, Dil

Chahta Hai. His next was Rock

On!! (2008). He acted in and

also produced the film. The film

became an instant cult film just

like Dil Chahta Hai (2001). Rock

called Oye! It's Friday! (2008),

Farhan is married to Adhuna Bhabani Akhtar, a hair-

stylist. They have two daughters, Shakya and Akira.

Farhan was also great friends with Aditya and Uday

Chopra, but their friendship turned sour after the ban-

ner did not give writing credits to his mom Honey Irani

for the script of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

Meanwhile, Akhtar also wrote the English lyrics

of Gurinder Chadha's Hollywood film, Bride and

Prejudice (2004) along with his sister, Zoya Akhtar

after being recommended by his father.

In 2006, Farhan directed, produced and wrote the

screenplay a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan

film, Don titled Don: The Chase Begins Again which

starred Shahrukh Khan in the title role. It marked

Akhtar's first project holding the status of a re-

make and credited him for a trend of remakes in

Bollywood. However, he said that he did not mean

to be a "torchbearer of the remake brigade", while

the character of "Don" became iconic in his career.

"Race 2" as her most challenging film

and says a lot of hard work has

gone into it. "It is the most negative

character I have played. It is very

challenging to do something like

that. I had to tackle each scene

with an underlying thought that

the character is concealing a

deep dark secret. Every char-

acter is dark and that is the

beauty of the film," she said in

an interview.

"It is a nice change. It's some-

thing new to try. It was very chal-

lenging. To be this evil person and

be negative, you have to work on

yourself," she added.

Comparing "Race 2" to her

previous hit "Housefull 2",

Jacqueline said: "'Housefull 2'

was like a walk in the park. It

was fun, everyone was hav-

ing a good time. 'Race 2' is more

calculative, you have to re-

hearse. You need to under-

stand that certain messages

need to be sent to the audi-

ence. So 'Race 2' was most

challenging."

She says Saif Ali Khan is

a wonderful person to work

with. "Saif on the first day it-

self was really warm and very

encouraging. Saif is a great per-

son off-screen and on-screen,"

she added.

Pritam has once again done magic. Be

intehaan, rendered by Pritam's favourite sing-

ers Atif Aslam and Sunidhi Chauhan, is one of

the best romantic songs of 2013.


Akki back withmadcap action dramaKhiladi 786 is a treat for all the Akshay

Kumar fans. Akki feeds the

masses with some spicy tadka shadka

in his unique khiladi style. Asin looks

stunning throughout the film, but un-

nity to do much.

Bahattar Singh (Akshay Kumar,

'cop' who helps cops in Punjab. His

family has an interesting lineage -

his grandmother is from Africa, his

mother from Canada and he has

an aunt from China. Their love

story, shown in flashback is comic

in its execution. Bahattar known

for his dare-devilry in nabbing

goons has one grouse; no girl is

willing to marry him. To top it, his

family wants an Indian bride for him.

opposite of the exaggerated Delhi Punjabi on screen.

stomach now. My mom is at home cooking for me right now, and that makes

me feel good. My guy should also be able to do that. Anyone who appreci-

ates good food will be romantic also, because it's all about the senses.

I am pretty sorted when it comes to work and things, but if you'll have

an emotional talk with me, toh I'll be like, haan haan, I'll completely buy

whatever you're telling me. It's not a very good thing; I'm working on it. I still

take people at face value and I know it's not the best thing in such times

with all these people around you with layers and masks. But then igno-

rance is bliss.

We girls are not meant to handle rejection, you know. Harman (her

character in Luv Shuv...) also had this guy and she thought both of them

were a couple but he doesn't think that way. He goes away and then he

comes back. So, you know, there is that phase when she acts like she

doesn't care but she can't ignore the guy either.

I have never enjoyed promoting a film because I am always shooting at

the same time. But I am not complaining, I enjoy being busy, and being in the

middle of things.

Born on 31st January at Rohru, Shimla

(Himachal Pradesh) to Durganand, an

Army Officer and Nilprabha, Preity Zinta

lost her father in an accident only at the age of

13. She was brought up by her mother who

too was severely injured in that accident. Al-

though bed ridden for over two years, but

being an army officer's wife, Nilprabha

brought up her three children (two sons

Deepaankar, now a commissioned army of-

ficer and Manish-settled in California, U.S.A.

and Preity) most bravely.

Preity describes herself as tomboy child.

Her dad enforced military discipline, punctual-

ity and sincerity in his kids. She studied at

Convent of Jesus and Mary and earned post

graduate degree in Criminal Psychology from

St. Bede's College, Shimla. She has a literary

taste and loves basketball. As soon as she

completed her academic attainments, a direc-

tor persuaded her for a TV commercial for

Perk chocolates and the Liril soap, which made

her a famous face.

She was originally sched-

uled to make her debut with

Shekhar Kapoor's Tara

Rum Pum with Hrithik but

the film was cancelled

for various reasons.

She made her debut

in the film Dil Se-1998

followed by a major

role in Soldier.

actresses that breaks away from character

stereotypes." She was equally acclaimed for

her role in Salaam Namaste-2005 and Kabhi

Alvida Na Kehena-2006, the top grossing pro-

duction in overseas market.

In addition to acting, Preity has written a

series of columns for BBC News Online-South

Asia. She is also a social activist, a TV pre-

senter and regular stage performer. She is also

co-owner of IPL team King's XI Punjab along

with boyfriend Ness Wadia of Bombay Dyeing.

Preity portrayed the character of Reet

Oberoi - a CBI officer in the thriller Sangharsh

along with Akshay Kumar, directed by Tanuja

Chandra and written by Mahesh Bhatt. She

also performed marvellously as Sofia Parvez,

a TV reporter in Mission Kashmir. The film dealt

with Indo-Pak conflict. She got an award for

Dil Chahata Hai, depicting the contemporary

routine life of Indian affluent youth.

During 2003-07, Preity was the female lead

in India's highest grossing films The Hero, Koi

Mil Gaya and Kal Ho Na Ho. Her next film,

Armaan with Big B and Anil Kapoor received

positive reviews. For Koi Mil Gaya, she again

received best actress nomination for her role.

In 2004, she starred as TV journalist Romila

Dutt in a war drama Lakshya along with Hrithik.

It was based on the historic event of 1999

Kargil conflict. Later that year, she played title

role in Veer Zara, which earned revenues over

of over Rs 900 million worldwide.

The film relates the love story of an Indian

officer and a Pakistani girl. It was recom-

mended for screening at the Berlin Film Festi-

val and also won several best movie awards

at major Indian award functions. Her next film,

Salaam Namaste - a comedy drama - was the

first Indian feature to be filmed entirely in Aus-

tralia and went on to become the year's high-

est grossing Bollywood production outside

India, earning Rs.570 million internationally.

The New York Times noted her as the most

accomplished performance to date. It further

stated "She is cheerleader, homecoming,

clean, fraternity, sweetheart, pretty, so even

when her characters have been unkind, it's

hard not to like her."

In 2011, she launched her own production

company PZNZ media. She also produced un-

der this banner `Ishq in Paris' - a romantic

comedy (an Indo-French collaboration).

The film has Preity portraying a half Indian,

half French-Parisian woman. In July 2012, Preity

signed an action comedy `Bhaiyaji Superhit

with Sunny Deol where she

ost people think, aaj diet shuru kiya,

kal patla bana. You can lose 10 kilos

in 30 days if you don't eat, but you are

losing muscle. You can put that weight

back on with five days of overeating. I

realised early on that it's not about a short term goal. I

had to lose 50 kilos. So I had to make peace with the

fact that it's not going to happen overnight.

Salmanbhai [Khan] inspired me. He is the one

who told me that I had acting talent in me, that I

should not squander it just because I am this

big lard of fat. The decision to lose weight hap-

pened when I decided to make acting a profes-

sion.

Losing weight isn't only about hitting the gym

every day, or keeping a check on your diet. It is a

combination of the two. I recognised that I have to

make adjustments to my diet and if I ever overeat, I

need to work it off in the gym.

In the first year, with weights and cardio, I lost a lot

of weight. But the fourth year was the toughest. I had

to lose only five more kilos. That's when I wanted to

get my jaw line sorted, stomach as plain as possible.

That's where CrossFit came in. I started training

under Deepesh Bhatt. When you stabilise yourself

with your own core, then you can lift anything in the

world.

You activate smaller

muscles through CrossFit. I

hear Hrithik Roshan does

CrossFit in the morning and

then does hardcore body build-

ing through the day. Now, I

haven't reached that level in the

gym.

If I train in the morning then I

have a protein shake. I have

lunch and am still trying to cut

down on carbs. At home, I have

dal, sabzi, and chicken. I also

have either bajra ki roti which

is more filling or two phulkas.

My dinner is as light as pos-

sible - just protein.

You obviously have self-

esteem issues when you are

fat, but I never let it bog me

down. You deal with it inter-

nally. Then you hit McDonalds,

have three burgers and you are

happy again.

Money wise the first six months look very

promising as compared to the last six

months of year 2012. You will be plain lucky in

all money matters. The value of your assets

and stocks previously purchased will appre-

BRASS STATUE

MUMBAI: December 3 marked the first

death anniversary of the legendary actor,

Dev Anand and The Official Channel of

Bollywood UTV Stars paid him a tribute by

installing his brass statue at the Bandra

Bandstand Promenade immortalizing his in-

valuable contributions to Indian Cinema.

Dev Anand's life size statue was un-

veiled by none other yesteryear great,

Waheeda Rehman and his son, Suneil

Anand. Waheeda Rehman made her debut

with Dev Anand and the two of them acted

together in seven movies, which is the high-

est for any actress with him.

Commenting on the tribute to Dev Anand,

at the Walk of the Stars, Nikhil Gandhi, Busi-

ness Head, UTV STARS, said: "UTV Stars

Walk of the Stars is a slice of Bollywood,

getting fans closer to their favourite super-

stars. It has become an iconic property and

a matter of pride not just for Mumbai but all

over India. In continuation to our endeavour

to honour the biggest stars of Bollywood,

we are now proud to launch the statue of

our legendary Dev Saab, whose contribu-

tion to Indian Cinema is priceless!"

Waheeda Rehman said, "I made my act-

ing debut with Dev Saab and then went on

to do 6 more films with him. He was ex-

tremely passionate about his work and we

shared a wonderful working relationship.

While he will always be remembered for

his wonderful movies, a tribute such as this

will immortalize Dev Saab forever. And I am

more than happy to have the privilege of

unveiling his statue."

Suneil Anand, son of Dev Anand, said,

"My father has to his name a wonderful line

up of movies and has contributed immensely

to Indian and World Cinema. He continues

to be a source of inspiration to millions of

youth the world over. He was passionate

about his work and was always forward

looking. And for him to receive such an

iconic tribute as recognition of his body of

work is truly heart-warming. This is a mo-

mentous occasion for me and my family -

Dev Anand is with us and will live forever."

Sanjeev Kapoor tojudge MasterChef 3

Get ready to watch the most renowned food personality in

India, Sanjeev Kapoor, as a judge on MasterChef India 3. The

celebrated judge joins Vikas Khanna and Kunal Kapoor on the

panel this year.

Having followed the past two seasons closely, Sanjeev

Kapoor is quite excited to be a part of the third season.

According to him, the show is the best platforms in the

country for amateur chefs and food enthusiasts to

showcase their skills. Sanjeev says, "I am all charged-

up to be joining MasterChef India and really happy to

be associated with the grand show for the first time

in such a close manner. What I love about the show

is that it has been bringing such great talent to

the forefront. The triumph of the home chef is

what attracts me the most about the unique

platform!" Interestingly, the last season had a

special Cook Off with Sanjeev Kapoor round.

Aamir now'closer to reality'Superstar Aamir Khan says that his

hugely popular television series

"Satyamev Jayate" has taken him

closer to the reality of life in India.

"The show has brought me in

touch with reality and taught me so

much in the last two years that it can

never be measured in money," he said

on the "Aap ki Adalat" show.

"As creative persons we enter-

tain people, but we also feel we have

to contribute to our society by bring-

ing about improvement in the social

fabric and inculcate better values,"

he said.

"Two things are required to change

India: one, all of us should change

our attitude towards females, and

two, we should not be self-centric

and think about working in the larger

interest." The actor admits he is an

emotional person and often cried

while working on the "Satyamev

Jayate" show.

CELEBRATION TIMEThe popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya is completing its 700th

episode. It's double celebration for the cast and crew, as the show

achieves a new milestone and Gopi is due any time soon.

A source shares, "Gopi is worried for Ahem, since he has not re-

turned from his business trip from Bhuj. Gopi has already left the house

to look for him. She needs to be careful as she is due anytime soon."

A worried Gopi says, "Although we have completed 700 episodes,

we cannot celebrate as Ahemji has not returned home. I want him to be

with me, when I deliver my baby."

The source adds, "Gopi would soon deliver a Gopi. She is expecting

Ahem to be back home to be with his family. She needs his support in

the critical yet exciting phase of her life."

Shilpa to judge Nach BaliyeShilpa Shetty has been roped in to judge the next season of dance

reality show Nach Baliye along with filmmaker Sajid Khan and cho-

reographer Terence Lewis.

Shilpa had earlier judged the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

and Zara Nachke Dikha. Karisma Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Farah Khan

judged the previous season of Nach Baliye in 2009.

The upcoming track shows

Parvati calling Nav Durga for

Suchi Snaan. She instructs

Vinayak to protect that particu-

lar area while the Snan Vidhi is

in progress.

While the snaan-vidhi is tak-

ing place, Mahadev comes back

from Samadhi, but Vinayak does

not allow him to go inside.

Mahadev then sends Gunprat,

Nandi, Indra and Narad how-

ever, Vinayak fights with all of

them and denies their request

of allowing anyone near the

snaan-viddhi area. After a while

Mahadev goes himself and

there is a fight between

Vinayak and Mahadev.

are being hosted by popular actor

Sachin Pilgoankar. On the other hand,

Anuj Thakur last seen in Main Lakshmi

Tere Aangan Ki will play a pivotal role

in one of the Mumbai special episodes

produced by Endemol.

not being respectful towards older

Entertainment Quarter (EQ) is a daily dose of

entertainment news from across the coun-

try. It equips the viewer with the knowledge of

what's happening in the entertainment world.

The programme is immensely popular with the

audience as the anchors are young and ener-

getic and can relate to the TG. EQ is a half-hour

programme on everything that has anything to

do with entertainment. The show will have the

news of the day from Hollywood, Bollywood

and the world of lifestyle. In a short burst-for-

mat of tightly edited stories, it packs as much as

possible from all sections. The programme is

high on energy. Besides the regular series of

news stories, the show also carries interviews

from the stars, a reality show section and a

World Cup Kabaddi

Tournament for the

third consecutive

time in the Men's cat-

egory and second

consecutive time in

the Women's cat-

egory.

Indian men de-

feated arch rival Pa-

kistan with a deci-

sive margin of 37

points. Indian

women thrashed

Malaysia 72-12.

Both the finals were

played at the Guru

Nanak Dev Stadium

in Ludhiana. In men's

category, third prize

went to Canada and

in women's cat-

egory, it was given to Denmark.

The matches were telecast live by PTC

Punjabi.

Indian men registered a hat trick by outclass-

ing Pakistan in every aspect of game. At the

end of the first half, Indian men squad was

KABADDI WORLD CUPleading with a point difference of 34-9.

India's raider and stoppers showed an ex-

traordinary sport in collecting points for their

country. Women's final was virtually a one

sided show as Malaysian team was no

match against Indian eves.

JALANDHAR: One is 48 the other 14.

The mother-daughter duo of Narinder Gill

(mother) and Navreet Gill (daughter) from

Canada has taken the Kabaddi World Cup-

2012 by storm. Narinder, is the captain of

the Canadian team now and what's unique

is that she led the Indian team to Canada in

1994 for a Kabaddi meet.

The tournament is being telecast by

PTC.

Narinder, who hails from Jalandhar, took

up the Canadian citizenship and settled

there. She taught at the local Khalsa Col-

lege in the capacity of a lecturer and has

played the senior nationals a whopping

five times. Besides, she also holds a mas-

ter degree in sports and is a proficient

soccer coach too, in Canada.

"We have settled down in Canada now

and its 18 years that we have left India. I

guess me captaining the side definitely

MOTHER-DAUGHTER DUO LEADS CANADAmakes me more of a Canadian now

(smiles). Though I miss my motherland a

lot," says an emotional Narinder.

Meanwhile, her daughter Navreet,

who is just 14-years-old and plays in

the capacity of a raider in the Canadian

side emerged as the highest scorer for

the team during the World Cup. A proud

mother was ecstatic with her daughter's

achievement.

"She has done us proud. I am really

happy for her. She is young and has a

long way to go. She is also a good soc-

cer player but first she has to complete

her education before taking up any of

these sports as a professional," quips

Narinder, on the sidelines of the 3rd

Kabaddi World Cup. The Canadian

women's team has two more pairs of

mother and daughter which is not only

unique but is quite unprecedented.

ADRAKI GOBHIGinger flavoured cauliflower

A basic and simple chicken curry

INGREDIENTS

• Chicken 800 grams

• Onions 4-5 medium

• Ginger 1 tablespoon

• Garlic 1 tablespoon

• Tomatoes 4-5 medium

• Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 1

tablespoon

• Ghee 4 tablespoons

• Cinnamon inch stick 1

• Cloves 4-5

• Green cardamom 4-5

• Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

• Coriander powder 2 tablespoons

• Cumin powder 2 tablespoons

• Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

• Salt to taste

• Garam masala powder 1 tea-

spoon

METHOD

Heat ghee/oil in a thick-bot-

tomed pan. Add cinnamon,

cloves and green cardamoms

and sauté for half a minute.

Add onions and sauté till golden

brown. Add ginger paste and garlic

paste and continue to sauté for two to

three minutes, stirring continuously. Add

turmeric powder, coriander powder,

cumin powder and red chilli powder.

Mix well. Add pureed tomato and stir.

Cook till oil separates from the masala.

Add the chicken pieces and salt. Sauté

on high heat for five minutes. Add two

cups water, bring to a boil, cover and

cook till the chicken is fully done. Sprinkle

garam masala powder and garnish with

coriander leaves and serve hot.

• Cauliflower 1 medium

• Salt to taste

• Turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon

• Vinegar 4 tablespoons

• Oil 2-3 tablespoons

• Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

• Green chillies 3

• Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

• Tomatoes, roughly chopped 2 medium

• Coriander leaves 2 tablespoons

• Lemon juice 1/2 tablespoon

METHOD

Cut caulif lower into

small florets. Place

them in a bowl, add

water enough to

soak the com-

pletely along

with salt and ¼

tsp turmeric

powder.

Thinly

slice ginger

and soak them in

vinegar.

Heat oil in a non stick pan.

Add cumin seeds and sauté till lightly

browned. Slit green chillies and add

along with ginger paste and sauté till fra-

grant.

Drain the cauliflower florets and add and

sauté. Add remaining turmeric powder, red chilli

powder and salt and mix. Cover and cook, stir-

ring at regular intervals, till half cooked.

Roughly chop tomatoes and add. Add 1 tbsp

water and mix.Drain and add more than half

the ginger slices soaked in vinegar and mix.

Cook on high heat till the cauliflower is done.

Chop fresh coriander and add and mix well.

Transfer into a serving bowl. Sprinkle

lemon juice and re-

maining ginger

slices and serve

hot.

VIDYA BALAN weds SRK

ollywood actor Vidya Balan tied the

knot with UTV head Siddharth Roy

Kapoor in Mumbai on December 14

in a private ceremony which saw

a mix of both Punjabi and Tamil tra-

ditions.

The wedding rituals went on for over an

hour at the well-decorated Green Mile Bunga-

low in Bandra in the presence of family mem-

bers of the bride and groom.

"The wedding ceremony was a mix of both

Punjabi and Tamil traditions. The food served

was South Indian," a source close to Vidya

told PTI.

The 34-year-old Vidya Balan underwent

three changes in costume during the wedding

ceremony, one of them being a mustard saree

with a pink blouse, matching the 38-year-old

groom's yellow kurta and pink turban.

After the ceremony was over, the newly

wed couple came out to pose for pictures and

Vidya was seen wearing a red saree teamed

with gold jewellery.

The 'Kahaani' star also waved her

mehendi-adorned hands at the waiting media,

revealing the Punjabi-style 'chooda' she was

wearing.

The wedding festivities for the couple be-

gan on December 11 with a private dinner

which was followed by a mehendi ceremony

at her home on December 12.

One celebrity spotted at the mehendi cer-

emony was veteran actor Rekha, who arrived

with vermillion (sindoor) in her hair parting,

traditionally a mark of married Hindu women.

The two are known to be very close and Vidya

has often said that she admires the legendary

actor, who like her, also hails from Chennai.

After the ceremony, Vidya stepped out with

her parents and elder sister and held up her hands
