What’s The Score

By Marko Pilipovic, Kenneth Liew,

Alex Mitchell and Dave Hammond

11-15 year olds and dads of

them who like football.Score predictions for football

and the popular leagues.

Weekends when matches are

on.

At home or a football stadium.

To record score predictions and

for competition between

friends and family.

To share scores and

achievements on social medias.

Aim

One of the main audiences of the

app is football loving families with kids who love football ageing from

11-15 with parents who go to

football matches most of the time.

These people are upper middle

class and have apple products like

the iPhone and enjoy some

competition between them that

want to strengthen their bonds

between them.

What do we tackle?

Other apps have trouble keeping score and cannot

provide the scores and all

the updates and no other

app has a transfer option

included in the league and points. We have access to

social medias which will link

with the game and share

information on it (scores,

achievements).

What do we improve?

When you have a chat with

your mates/parents about

football and guess what the

score is or where a player

would go, how do you keep

track of who is right and who is

wrong? It also adds the

element of competition which

will be fun between your friends and family.

The core question we address

Its solving the friendly conversation between mates

about the football scores and transfers. It also stops

arguments between mates about who was right and

who was wrong. It also provides a bond between a

family member and his/her child who has this app. It

also solves the hassle in going to someone's house

every time you want to predict score etc.

Key insights

My team, What’s the score is developing a mobile app

to help 11-15 year olds and

their parents stop bickering

over who was right and who

was wrong about the previous matches or transfers and helps

them now connect by using

football scores and transfers

through this app. We will link

most football leagues onto the

app .

Our product

Interview Results

We interviewed around 30 people in survey

conditions but with many comment boxes so we

know people viewpoints and perspectives. 70% of

the people who took our survey liked the idea of

our survey but the only downfall was the possible

charge for the app and the way it relates to

gambling. It does not provoke gambling as it will

have a fantasy football type of effect but instead of guessing who will play the best or which team will

win, you guess the score. Now how does that relate

to gambling?

ED Sports was are main

competitor however, it

does not come with a

friends tab, outdated as well as not user friendly,

we improve on this by

getting feedback from

people over surveys and

look at what they all

Competitors

MVP feature

We have three major

features of our app and

they are the connection to

sites that contain valid

scores, the reliable

league structure and the

ability to invite your friends to play and join you

league. We couldn’t

decide which one was the

most important one as all

three make the app and

are the most valued.

Flow of app & user feedback integrated

Our app flows as the screens are all linked and you can get around the whole app while only using two or three taps. We do not have any user integrated feedback but we do have an online survey with a feedback option.

The one below is the starting page. The home page. This allows access to: Facebook, League, Friends and settings. As well as a logo.

This is the league tables page where you can gain access to your various leagues

These are the various leagues you have with your friends logged into it and your current points and record.

This is the create new league option from the bottom of the previous league slides. You can add friends to your newly created league as well

This screen comes off of the home “add friends” tab and it enable you to add friends and when clicked it leads to the next screen.

This is where you type in your mates names on Facebook and they will be added to your friends list.

This is where you log into Facebook (if you have Facebook) and it will link to your Facebook so when you type a name it will suggest your friends when their name is typed

These are the common settings that every app or game always has like sound and brightness. You have to pay for adverts off.

Feasibility: Data, content, technical

Our product does rely on data but it is easily accessible as we can find all of the information on the BBC sports website and many others we get reliable information from and we can stream it all. Our content is very simple and doesn’t rely on too much in-app information. And whatever information is there it is in a text or table form. This app is just as technical as every other app. It requires two major databases: one for the real scores and one for the customers predictions.

Business cases and customer pledges

It only requires the submission for the app to be able to access your Facebook and be able to take friends and add them to the game . We found that customers did not mind paying cheaply, £0.69, for access to this app if it is good and reliable. We did not have to change any plans in order for this to happen.

Marketing Strategy

We will rely on people sharing and telling their friends about our app and asking them to get it. That is the real life social way to get our app shared but on Facebook people will share their opinions on football and our app will suggest a share on the connected Facebook profile.
