“The great moral question ofour attitude toward the home-less, toward refugees and mi-grants takes on a deeper dimen-sion: Do we really have roomfor God when he seeks to enterunder our roof? Do we havetime and space for him?” aniya.

PNP nagbabala sa mga iligal na labintadorNAGBABALA ang Philippine Na-tional Police (PNP) kahapon sapubiko na huwag bumili o gu-m a m i t n g m g a i l i g a l n apaputok.

“[T]he DOH will [handle the]information drive [and] we inthe PNP will focus on the en-forcement of laws that will help

in reducing [firecracker-relatedinjuries] to the lowest level,” aniPurisima.

Marlon Ramos

blown hissy fit, screaming atBefuddled Parent: “I hate you!You don’t give me aguinaldo(Christmas gift)!”

Is that the reason why BP isupset with Estranged Partner?Does BP blame EP for PC’s in-termittent outbursts?

Are there parents on Santa’slist? Seems someone’s beennaughty this year.

Ballroommeltdown

By now, a lot of ink has beenspilled about the reported con-frontation between BaronGeisler and several TV5 talentsduring the MVP ball last week.

Filmmaker Jose Javier Reyestold Rushes that he was chat-ting with Geisler about the ac-tor’s desire to turn a new leaf—barely an hour before the sup-posed encounter with Edgar Al-lan Guzman. Geisler had report-edly taken offense because Guz-man didn’t say hi, and threat-ened to slap the latter.

Noel Ferrer, Guzman’smanager, issued this statement:“It’s an unfortunate incident.Edgar has always looked up toBaron… I hope this doesn’t hap-pen again.”

Wine was said to overflow atthe event.

Arnold Vegafria, Geisler’smanager, told Rushes that hehad a serious talk with the ac-tor’s family. “I required them toassign a chaperone to Baron ev-erywhere, especially social gath-erings.”

Vegafria said Geisler wasmanic-depressive and undergo-ing treatment. “He broke upwith his (nonshow biz) girl-friend.”

Asked if he wasn’t fed upwith Geisler’s public meltdowns,Vegafria said, “Baron and other

people with bipolar disorderneed understanding.”

Somber seasonWhile the entire room was

celebrating to the hilt, MajorStar was spotted in a huddlewith Top Exec in one corner ofa huge party place.

MS looked serious, apparent-ly in no mood to make merry.

Was the somber mood be-cause of a business deal thatwent awry? MS was stuck withthe shorter end of the stick andended up working, gratis.

All MS asked was to be treat-ed fairly.

Wrong sendReality Hunk has always

been perceived as homophobic. Not a few observers have beenturned off by his overbearing,self-righteous ways.

A Production Staffer wasonce shocked to receive an SMSfrom RH, obviously sent mistak-enly. In the wayward message,RH was asking a certain agentto hook him up with a prospec-tive gay client, having “lots ofbills to pay.”

StandoutSeasoned Performer can’t

help upstaging other entertain-ers.

SP was slated to sing withPopular Star and TalentedArtist. Right before the produc-tion number, SP asked an assis-tant to make sure that PS andTA wore black outfits, as the di-rector specified.

However, SP herself slippedinto a red dress. The result was,SP stood out but incurred theire of colleagues.

Plenty of intrigue on NBA Christmas scheduleTHE NBA’s hottest team will beplaying at home in Los Angeles, and it’s the Clippers, not theLakers. There’s a finals rematchin Miami, a holiday matinee inBrooklyn, Kobe vs. the Knicksand the 20th anniversary of oneof Michael Jordan’s most mem-orable games in Chicago.

Welcome to Christmas, NBAstyle.

A five-game slate makes upthe NBA’s Christmas schedule, which this year comes with theadditional bonus of not beingthe first day back after a lock-out forced the cancellation ofthe opening portion of last sea-son.

Schedule-makers set thematchups long ago, and theleague always tries to get somemarquee meetings.

This year, they pretty muchstruck gold.

The Clippers are riding afranchise-record 13-game win-ning streak. The New YorkKnicks will face their formercoach, Mike D’Antoni, whenthey play the Lakers. Miami andOklahoma City will be bringingthe best records in their respec-tive conferences into their firstmatchup since the Heat wonthe title. And Brooklyn andBoston face off, a few weeks af-ter the teams started shoving

one another and firing off someinsults afterward.

“I don’t know how much badblood is still there,” Nets guardDeron Williams told reportersMonday. “We beat them twicethis year. I know they’re awareof that and they’ l l come inready to play.”

On Christmas, that’s the casewith everybody.

“There’s nothing like playingon Christmas,” Knicks starCarmelo Anthony said.

Los Angeles will be the cen-ter of the league’s Christmasbash, with two games at StaplesCenter on the same day, includ-ing an opener that features two

teams which got off to surpris-ing starts in very dif ferentways.

The Knicks — with an East-ern Conference-leading 20 winsso far — venture out to playKobe Bryant and the Los Ange-les Lakers, who reworked theirroster over the summer and re-worked their coaching staff af-ter a slow early start, firingMike Brown and bringing inD’Antoni.

It’s the 48th time playing onChristmas for the Knicks, butonly the eighth time on theroad.

Finish that game, clear thecourt, and basketball fans in

Los Angeles then get a secondpresent — the NBA’s best teamof late.
