LANGUAGESAll the workshops in the main auditorium will be translated into English, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish, while some other workshops will happen directly in English.CONTENTThe program has been coordinated by Leonardo Buzzavo (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice) who based on his international knowledge and expertise has shaped the major workshops around major up-to-date issues that dealers and players of the automotive distribution industry are facing on an international scale, including reorganization trends, dealership best practices, human resource management, network restructuring, dealer satisfaction, block exemption regulation, used car management, innovation, after-sales and parts.SPEAKERSThe speaker line-up, alongside many speakers from Italy, features internationally relevant figures such as key executives from automakers (such as Lorenzo Sistino from Fiat Automobiles), dealers from all over the world (such as José Maurício Andreta Jr from Brazil, Edward Tonkin and Bruce Bendell from the USA), industry specialists (such as John Whiteman and Andrew Tongue from ICDP, Charles Mills from J.D. José Maurício Andreta jr is an entrepreneur who funded and is still managing a dealer group in the State of Sao Paolo in Brazil. The group is continuously expanding the income and the brands portfolio. The profit and the KPI make the “Grupo Andreta” case one of the best example in the word for territorial focus, managerialization and daily management of the business. In this workshop José Maurício Andreta jr shows personally his entrepreneurial formula and his method of working.

With the new regulation into force about sales and after-sales network for vehicles and the parts distribution, this workshop (in collaboration with ICDP) focuses on the contents of the new set of laws and on implications for the European automotive sector. The speakers are Andrew Tongue (ICDP), one of the main experts about BER and Edward Tonkin (NADA chairman), who presents the USA situation about the relations oem-dealers.

In order to have success in extremely competitive environment, you have to find the right balance among doing by yourself, delegate and team play, moving in a focused and determined way to your pre-determined objectives. This workshop provides stimuli from speakers coming from different experiences. Loris Casadei is CEO of Porsche Italia and President of UNRAE. Rossano Galtarossa is the Italian athlete who won the highest number of Olympic medals in rowing.

Charles Mills, Vice President Europe of J.D. Power and Associates, analyzes trends of the market and of the automotive sector, with an international focus. Steve Young, Director of the International Car Distribution Programme, examines the ingredients of the profitability and sustainability of the dealer networks (investments, stocks, costs, returns), in order to identify specific initiatives to improve profitability. This workshop is in collaboration with ICDP.

The Forum of Automotive Dealer Day is the traditional rendez-vous with the first-time preview of the results of DealerSTAT 2010, the survey on dealer satisfaction towards automakers, and the awards delivery to the most appreciated brands. Leonardo Buzzavo (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice) will interact with some top managers from OEMs about the difficulties of the relationships among dealers and automakers, and about the current situation in order to find some path of development. Speakers include Andrea Castronovo (President of BMW Group Central Eastern Europe), Michele Crisci (CEO Volvo Auto Italia), Santo Ficili (Director of Fiat Automobiles Italy), Wojciech Halarewicz (CEO of Mazda Motor Italy ), Gaetano Thorel (President of Ford Italy) and Gabriele Maramieri (Quintegia).

The used vehicle management has become even more important business area in the last years, and requires a strategic focus, dedicated processes, a particular marketing and specific indicators. In this workshop two big dealership owners highlight the main aspects of their efficient and effective management. Bruce Bendell (Major Automotive Companies) is a dealer from New York (USA), and Alberto di Tanno is chief of Gruppo Intergea, one of the main dealer group in Italy, who won the Managerial Innovation Award 2008 thanks to his used vehicle area strategy.

This workshop is moderated by Tommaso Tommasi (InterAutoNews) and is composed by two parts. The first one is the delivery of the Managerial Innovation Award (promoted by Quintegia – Findomestic – InterAutoNews) to the finalist dealer. After that the session is dedicated to the innovation represented by the electrical vehicle: reality or fantasy? Speakers are: Paolo Lanzoni (Mercedes-Benz Italia) and Fabio Orecchini (Università di Roma “La Sapienza”).

After that, Leonardo Buzzavo proposes a strategic check-list to enhance the after-sales business.
