Welcome to Ms. White’s English In this class, we will be looking at literature from 1000 A.D. through today. We will see how historical events influence literature and how literature has influenced history. Class discussion will be a significant (and hopefully fun!) part of the class. I look forward to hearing your personal interpretations, views, and opinions on our subjects of study! Course Description Guidelines 1) Be Respectful Teacher & Classmates Personal Belongings Beliefs & Opinions 2) Be Prepared 3-Ring Binder Pencil/Pen Notebook Paper Textbook/Novel 3) Raise your hand (Exception: Class Discussion) 4) Stay seated & listen when others are speaking 5) Obey all school rules See Student Handbook Procedures Beginning of Class: Be in your seat when the bell rings. Complete the Bellringer. During Class: Cell Phone Policy Keep all notes, handouts, and returned work neatly organized in your 3-ring binder. Other procedures (i.e. group work, special occasions, etc.) will be discussed as they come up. End of Class: Last 5 minutes of class will be silent-reading time. You may pack everything up (except your book) at
