Mini Elevator Pitch

We are developing a debating app to help encourage younger children in schools to debate about pressing issues such as global warming by making a school friendly interface which has a variety of different topics which

update every week, which can be moderated.

Problem- A lot of children are

spending a lot of unnecessary time on their phones

Debating app: It is a friendly, social way for children to express their different

opinions and spend less time on other things unnecessary things such as games whilst still having fun and

learning more about politics and other issues which are going on in the world.

Debating app: we are addressing the fact that most younger children and teenagers

are out of touch with important issues such as global warming and other political

predicaments.

Our app is different to this app because this is mainly focused around a game, whereas ours is moderated and the users will have more freedom to debate about their topics, because they wont be limited by the maximum amount of points scored, which is what the users of this app will mainly be aiming for.

Our app is better than this app because this app isnt moderated, which means that anyone could post malicious/inappropriate comments on other peoples posts. This could lead to flame wars and the debates would just turn into unintelligent insults.

Feasibility

Data & technical

We have learnt that technically, our app would be quite easy to make, as it only requires a simple (but

effective!) format similar to something like Instagram, so it would not require extra effort to make it user friendly and easy to use without the risk of users losing interest because the app is too complex to

handle. A problem we could run into is that initially when the app is launched we might have an issue with

putting in topics at the beginning.

Business Case

Our business model is free, because we want to make It as easy as possible for schools all over the country to get this app for the students of the app.

Marketing Strategy

We are going to spread our app by social media and we will tell everyone we know about the app.

We will also have a survey to see how many people will actually use the app.

Another way we can spread the app is by making a website with all the information about our app on

it.
