Stewardship Moment October 13, 2019 – 28th Sun-day in Ordinary Time “Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to

God?” - Luke 17:18

Most of us live “easy” lives. We have food, shelter and clothing. We go on vacation every year and own a car or two. Most of us take this all for grant-ed. Did you ever notice that people with the least amount of possessions are usu-ally the most grateful? Shouldn’t this be the other way around? Take time every day and thank God for all He has given you.

Dear Members of St. Cecilia’s, Thank you for the won-derful clothing donation

as part of your Lenten almsgiving. We were humbled when you thought of us when “Dress For Success” was not available. Your clothing will be wonderful addition to the closets of those in need—especially our young college students as they prepare for job interviews. Our local conferences have many requests for work clothes for our friends in need. Their faces light up when they receive such beautiful shirts and pants.

RCIA classes will begin Wed., October 16th in the 7th and 8th grade classroom, in the CCD

building. Adult classes start at 7:45 right after CCD classes end. If you know anyone who has wondered about becoming a member of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, please have them contact Rod Marchand at 701-341-0274 or the Parish office. Everyone is welcome, including anyone who wants to learn more about the Faith. Please make ear-ly contact to be registered for classes.

Heavenly Father, grant me the wisdom to set realistic goals and the strength to

sacrifice for them. Amen

40 Days for Life at St Cecilia

Because of the distance you may not be able to pray at the abortion facility in Fargo, we would suggest that you make a holy hour weekly through-out this campaign during our regularly scheduled Eucharistic Adoration times Monday – Wednesday.

We are also looking to offer “40 hours of prayer.” If you are able to come to the Church and make a holy hour on one day, or more, during this campaign please sign up on the calendars found in the vestibules of the church. This hour could be any time of the day that works best for you.

Reminder: Please look to see if you have a bowl or pan left here after a funeral. The items are located in the elevator entrance. Items not claimed soon will be put in the rummage sale.

Anyone wishing to volunteer, of any age, to altar serve at Saturday evening

Mass is encouraged to do so. Adults desiring to learn and participate, please visit with Fr. Kevin to either teach you or refresh you. Your partic-ipation is much appreciated!

REAL Samaritan Project (R-Rehab, E-Equipment, A-Available for, L-loan)

“If someone who has worldly means sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in him? Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.”

1 John 3:17-18

We, at St. Cecilia’s and St. Anthony’s, have been challenged to put feet to our Faith. As our parishes are getting older, we have more and more need for those “extra” items that help us in our rehabilitation after a surgery! We would like to put together a database of medical equipment that is available from our members for use by those needing help. We all have something that is sitting in our closets or basements that might be of use to someone else for a short period of time. Why not lend them out and save someone the cost of pur-chasing it. We are not asking you to give up your equipment, but to lend it out when someone is in need. Items that are often needed are; walkers, rollators, handle supports for bath-room, high rise toilet seats, bed rails, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, shower chairs, lift/ power chairs.

In the near future we will have clipboards at each of the entrances to facilitate the signing up of items willing to be lent and the name and phone # of the “Giver.” These lists will be made available from the main office, posted in the East Sacristy of St. Cecilia’s and in the entrance at St. Anthony’s. Thank You in advance for helping a brother or sister in need!

“Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do… but how much love we put in that action.” – Mother Teresa

An Ultreya--a gathering of people who have made a Cur-sillo or interested in making one--will be held at St James

Basilica, Jamestown, Sat., Oct 19 at 5:30. A pot luck supper will be served. Guest speaker is Kyle McGuire, Fargo, sharing his journey back to the faith. Families most welcome.
