Abidjan “Aérocité”, an innovative

project for a sustainable

airport city

With the renewal in 2010 of the Abidjan airport concession,

for a further 20 years, to Egis Airport Operation, the

Ivory Coast Government confirmed its recognition

of Egis’ expertise in airport management. The Government

has entrusted Egis with the role of urban planner,

developer and operator of an “airport city” of 450 hectares.

To create this showcase for the Ivory Coast, which will

boost the appeal of the airport, Egis has developed a project

for a sustainable multi-functional city, a combination of hotels, commerce, service

activities and housing. For this project Egis has put

into action its extensive range of engineering and airport

operation capabilities, offering its know-how in terms of

urban layout. The “Aérocité” is located in an exceptional natural

environment between ocean and lagoon. Egis is performing

innovative engineering work particularly respectful of the natural environment by providing alternative

management technologies, in terms of sanitation, water

management and energy efficiency of buildings.

■ Long term policy for planning land use, an airport is a key asset in the development of a Region or a Counrtry, and is a provider of employment and business.

■ Alliance of new technologies and creative talent of our teams allows us to propose ambitious solutions corresponding to the requirements of each project.

Establish customized win-win partnerships, for the long term

■ Reliability for the long run: A concession is above all a partnership with Regional authorities and Government. Our vision for a concession goes beyond the contract specifications; it’s about long term satisfaction, for the benefit of all parties. The renewal of concessions managed by Egis Airport Operation is evidence of a win-win partnership.

■ Professionalism: An experienced airport managerial team supported by Egis Airport Operation experts and other Egis entities, combine the best skills from each: generalists, operational staff or experts. OUR COMMITMENTS Libreville Airport, a long term partnership…

In 1988 and for a period of 30 years Libreville airport was the first concession entrusted to Egis Airport Operation, in partnership with Marseille-Provence Airport, through a dedicated subsidiary, SEGAP, frequently used since then for investment in new concessions (Ivory Coast, Congo). The airport concession was one of the first in Africa. The result was an investment plan that was immediately fulfilled, in particular the extension of the terminal, infrastructure compliance and improvement of passenger flows. Over a short period, Libreville became one of the first African airports to provide a service quality at world class standard level.

An international partnership for the

benefit of Cyprus airports

Since Hermes Airports took over the operations of Cyprus airports in 2006, for a period

of 25 years, Egis and the Canadian group Vantage have assisted Hermes Airports, via a dedicated structure, in the

development and management of the airports of Larnaka and Paphos. A management team

was assigned to enable the assimilation of existing facilities

followed by an ORAT team (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer) to organize

transfer of operations in the best conditions possible to the new

terminals of Paphos in 2008 and of Larnaka in 2009. Egis

Airport Operation and Vantage are together still carrying out

their role as key players in the operation of these airports,

bringing the supervision and expertise necessary to manage

and develop Larnaka and Paphos airports.

Tendem Empreinte©, based on agendas 21 of the Rio convention, was created in 2010 by Egis for management of sustainable development objectives, it is a strategic priority for the Group.

The Tendem Empreinte© method optimizes the long-term sustainability performance of infrastructure and development projects. Practical and collaborative, this method defines targets, indicators, and particular actions which accentuate the sustainable characteristics of a project.

Tendem Empreinte© has been adapted to airports. Egis Airport Operation, using the Tendem Empreinte© evaluation, establishes action plans to ensure continual improvement of environmental performance.
