9:00am—11:30am. It is based on the book, The 3 Colors of Ministry, which pre-sents a holistic approach to identifying and developing your spiritual gifts. This seminar will also show you where you most need to focus your energies so that your Christian service can be most effective. The cost of the seminar is $8.00, which just covers the cost of the book. Childcare will be provided. Please be sure to sign up on the sheet in the lobby - an informational packet will go out this week that will need to be filled out before you come. For more information, please contact David Sleight, [email protected].

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15: ELDER NOMINATIONS DUE It’s time once again for us to select Elders for the coming year. All active members over the age of 16 are encouraged to complete a rec-ommendation form. Recommendations should be based on a prayer-ful consideration of those you know that are helping you in your Chris-tian walk, that have been teaching and leading you in their walk by example or words. Please be in prayer for God’s guidance in this se-lection process. Packets of information with recommendation forms are available in the lobby, and should be turned in to any elder or placed in the offering plate by November 15th.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8 & 15: WOMEN OF FAITH SIGN UPS Women of Faith: Loved The Farewell Tour - You are seen. You are known. You are Free. Join the women of the Journey and experience a remarkable weekend celebration to be reminded… or discover for the very first time… what God’s grace and love mean for you. A table will be set up in the lobby on November 8th and 15th to sign up in the lobby for this amazing event being held

on January 15th and 16th at Eaglebank Area in Fairfax (GMU). Cost is $80 for the event, $12 for lunch. If finances are an issue, please let us know - scholarships are available. Tickets are lim-ited, so sign up soon! Contact Tonya Mullins, [email protected], or Judy Davis, [email protected], for more information.

JOURNEY KIDZ SUNDAY - SIGN UP TODAY! On December 20th, Journey Kidz & our teens will be leading both Sunday Morning Services. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our children to use their gifts and shine for Jesus! Each age group will be overseeing different portions of the service, everything from music, acting & speaking parts, and controlling various props! Sign-up in the lobby, at the Journey Kidz Check-Out station, or email Michelle. The deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, November 4th. As we will use portions of November Sunday morning service time to rehearse, students who sign up MUST COMMIT to attending one service each Sunday in November (excluding the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and both dress rehearsals, December 12th & 19th at 9:00 am. This is an event that will require a lot of planning and preparation with our kids, so commitment is necessary! We are excited for all God will do with this time! If you have questions or wish to volunteer, please contact Michelle D'Angelo at [email protected].

BABY DEDICATION CELEBRATION - November 8, 2015

We will be holding a Baby Dedication on November 8th during both ser-

vices. If you are interested in participating with us in our Baby Dedica-

tion, please follow the 3 steps below. You have been entrusted with the

precious gift of new life, and we look forward to partnering with you as

you embark on this parenting journey. We hope the Baby Dedica-

tion Celebration will be a memorable occasion for you and your family.

STEP 1) LISTEN TO THE PARENTING TALKS ON OUR WEBSITE

AND COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK.

This is an important first step in the process because we want to in-

spire you to invest in the things that will matter the most to your child’s

future. We want to help you get off to a great start as you parent your

new baby. Go to thejourneysite.org, click on the “Journey Kidz” tab,

then on the “Baby Dedication” page.

STEP 2) SIGN UP FOR BABY DEDICATION

Once you have listened to the parenting talks and completed the home-

work, please email Michelle D’Angelo at [email protected] to sign

up for this special dedication in our services. Please note in your email

which service you will be attending, names of parents that will be at-

tending and how you want your child’s name to read on the certificate.

STEP 3) LET’S CELEBRATE!

That’s right! The last step in the process is to attend our Baby Dedica-

tion. We will be doing this during our regular service times on Sunday,

November 8th. You will be the greatest influence in your child’s life. As

your church, we want to be your biggest fan and trusted guide. We look

forward to celebrating this special time with you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle at

[email protected]

Focus on Missions

Dr. Ajai and Indu Lall started CICM in December 1982 with a dream to

obey Jesus’ Great Commission by establishing a mission center in their

homeland. From the very beginning they focused on evangelism, church

planting and leadership training. What started with these two faithful serv-

ants has grown into a multifaceted mission helping thousands of people

each year through evangelistic and benevolent ministries.

CICM responds to the needs of the people in India and its surrounding

countries through local outreach, medical care, disaster relief, training and

discipleship. CICM not only provides for the physical needs of people in

India, but also introduces them to the Gospel. In just over 30 years,

CICM has planted over 1,400 churches and baptized over 400,000 people.

From CICM’s beginning their out-

reach has grown and now extends to

11 states of central and northern In-

dia, and the neighboring countries of

Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.

With God’s help, CICM’s evangelists

have planted and lead many church-

es. CICM provides training for their

evangelists. Some earn a theology

degree from Bible colleges in India. Most complete evangelist training at

our Biblical Academy at the CICM campus. Their Benevolent Ministries

include a Children’s Ministry, a Medical Ministry and an Emergency Dis-

aster Service.

OUTREACH MINISTRY TEAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Do you have a heart for the Lost here in Springfield? Do you feel a need to reach out to others in our community? I invite you to join the Outreach ministry team which plans such events and helps organize ways we as a church can be Jesus’ hands and feet to those around us. We’re looking for people who have skills in organization, recruitment, compassion, and service. Please sign up in the lobby if this is the min-istry you feel passion for. We will meet 2-3 times a year for planning,

and then before different outreach events to ensure all details are covered. Contact Dave Sleight with any other questions at [email protected].
