Focus on Missions

One of several missions we support, Central India Christian Mission, is also the mission that our Journey Kidz support! All of the of-fering from our Journey Kidz Zone and also from our VBS offering is going directly to sup-port CICM.

CICM responds to the needs of the people in India and its surrounding countries through local outreach, medical care, disaster relief, training and discipleship. CICM not only provides for the

physical needs of people in India, but also introduces them to the Gospel.

In India, the number of homeless and hungry children reaches into the mil-lions. Children’s Ministries are a vital part of CICM’s outreach. The chil-dren’s ministry is helping clothe the naked, feed the hungry, take care of the sick, bring hope to the hopeless and free those in bondage. Above all, they

educate these children about the love of our Lord and His glory.

CICM’s children’s ministry provides for more than 600 orphans and at risk children and the sponsor program cares for more than 5,000 children in need. Every dollar received for the children’s ministry is sent directly to In-dia for these children to receive food, shelter and an education. A recurring gift of $30 per month supports a child. In addition to child sponsorships, one-time contributions provide children with useful gifts such as personal care items, immunizations, clothing and mosquito nets. Dr. Indu Lall also minis-ters to 200 children through a weekly food distribution program where they distribute rice, lentils and vitamins to each child and teach them Bible sto-ries. Showing God’s love to these children has changed their lives and sof-

tened their parents’ often resistant hearts.

The goal of the children’s ministries is to raise a young generation of Christians by providing effective Bib-lical teaching and Christian mentor-ship. Your gifts and prayers for the children cared for by CICM are mag-nified as they learn about Christ and share His gospel with their families

and communities.

Sermon Outline

God is…Omnipresent…

1 Kings 8:27 (NCV), “But, God, can you really live here on the earth? The sky and the highest place in heaven cannot contain you. Surely this house which I have built cannot

contain you.”

Psalm 139:1-16 (MSG), “God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back; I’m never out of your sight. You know everything I’m going to say before I start the first sentence. I look behind me and you’re there, then up ahead and you’re there, too—your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful—I can’t take it all in! Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit; to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, you’d find me in a minute—you’re already there waiting! Then I said to myself, ‘Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!’ It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you. Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you,

the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”

The reality of His presence…will always led to repentance...

Hebrews 4:13 (NCV), “Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived.”

Sermon Outline

Jeremiah 23:24 (NLT), “Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not every-where in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.”

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The reality of His presence makes me somebody…

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The reality of His presence allows us to exchange our worries for His peace…

Psalm 29:11 (NCV), “The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his peo-ple with peace.”

Matthew 6:31-33 (NCV), “Don't worry and say, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?' The people who don't know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. Seek first God's kingdom and

what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.”

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Philippians 4:7 (NCV), “And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

The reality of His presence gives us the power to overcome…

• Overcome the fears of life…

Isaiah 41:10 (CEV), “Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

• Overcome the storms of life…

Psalm 34:18 (NIV), “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

• Overcome the temptations of life…

1 John 4:4 (NCV), “My dear children, you belong to God and have defeated them; be-cause God's Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG), “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help

you come through it.”

Sermon Outline

His presence gives us the direction we need…

Psalm 32:8 (NLT), “The Lord Says: I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and will watch over you.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG), “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;

he's the one who will keep you on track.Don't assume that you know it all.” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hebrews 13:5-6 (MSG), “Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be re-laxed with what you have. Since God assured us, ‘I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,’ we can boldly quote, ‘God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter

what. Who or what can get to me?’”
