porsyento sa bayarin noong 2009. Ayon sa Commission on Audit(COA), tumaas ang bayarinsapagkat nananatiling bukas angilaw sa mga lansangan sa maram-ing bahagi ng lungsod “day in andday out.” Madalas ding magpalitng pundidong bumbilya ang lung-sod bunga nito.

Maaaring tumaas din ang bayarin sa kuryente dahil sa pagpa-

patayo sa dalawang pagamutan saMaynila, na nilarawan nito bilang“laudable investment on healthservices.” Nagdagdag din anglungsod ng mga ilaw.

Ngunit sanhi din ng pagtaas ngbayarin ang pagnanakaw ngkuryente o iligal na koneksyon,dinagdag ng COA.

Pinahahabol ng COA sa ManilaCity engineering office at ibang tang-gapan ang mga magnanakaw ngkuryente upang hindi na tumaas angbayarin sa kuryente. Pinaalalahanannito ang pamahalaang lungsod namagtipid sa lahat ng tanggapan.
