About the Programme

Simulation plays a very important role in designing complex systems such as power electronic circuits. Anumber of software packages are available to simulate power electronic circuits at the present time. Withsimulation, it is possible to quickly find out the effect of circuit parameters on the circuit performance,someof the time-consuming and expensive prototyping steps can be avoided. For these reasons, simulationhas become an important component in academic and also in industrial design processes. In this coursetwo IEEE transaction papers (one in the Forenoon session and another in the afternoon session) will beexplained and simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

About the Department

The Department of Electrical and ElectronicsEngineering was started in the year 2002. Thedepartment got accredited in the year 2009.

The Department has organized many Workshopsand Conferences over the years.The departmenthas well experienced faculty members, establishedlaboratories with leading engineering softwarelike ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, Multisim andEdraw. M/S. National Instruments (I) Pvt. Ltd,Bangalore sponsored LabVIEW Academy, a centreof excellence in Virtual Instrumentation possesseslatest software and hardware for Research anddevelopment. Totally 10 Batches, around 500participants from various domain were benefitedthrough this LabVIEW Academy. The departmentalso has PLC programming laboratory certified by B

& R Industrial Automation, Pune, which enhancesthe knowledge in embedded systems.
