I love every season in Minnesota, but perhaps my favorite is that of fall. Cold nights, pleasant days, and it just seems like the calendar becomes a little less chaotic. That being said, the Chamber calendar picks up quite a bit with the monthly Legislative Breakfast and Business Councils starting back up, running till next June. In Melissa’s and my time here at the Chamber, we have introduced a lot of new events; Legislative Breakfast, Business Councils, Spring and Fall Business Expo, Employee Appreciation luncheon, Table for Four, Excellence in Business Awards at the Gala; but these two events are my favorites. They both represent in my mind, what the Chamber of Commerce exists for, bringing people
together to discuss and find avenues to strengthen businesses. If over the next 10 months, you attend every legislative breakfast and every business council in your city (which equals 2.5 hours per month!), I guarantee your business will be stronger through the connections you will have made, and the information you will have obtained. Quick story as I am running out of space: I received a call this week from a 72 year old CPA, who told me that 25 years ago, after attending her first Twin Cities North Chamber meeting (at that time Fridley Chamber), she gained 300 new clients within a week. Don’t believe me? She’ll be attending the Fridley Business Council on September 9th to hear Mayor Lund’s city update. Come and meet her, it is a great story!
