Hebeganhishealthcarecareerin1977asanaideintheradiologydepart-mentofSelmaMedicalCenter,wherehemethisfuturewifeBarbaraLeighHoward.Afteradditionaltraining,heworkedforfouryearsasarespiratorytherapytechnicianwhileattendingthe

UniversityofAlabamaBirminghamearninghisBSinScience/Phys-icsandacertificateinNuclearMedicine.AfterUAB,heworkedasbothastafftechnologistanddepartmentdirectorinNuclearMedicinewithhospitalsinAlabamaandGeorgia.HereturnedtoBirminghaminthe1980stopursuefurthereducation,completingaMastersinHealthcareAdministrationfromUABbeforeenteringhisresiden-cy.ChipbeganhismanagementcareerasDirectorofRiskManagement,whichencompassedresponsibilityforriskmanagementandqualityimprovementatalargemedicalcenterinAlabama. Chiptookapositionintheearly90sasanAssociateAdministrator,andafterworkingtoexpandservicestoincludeNeuro-SurgeryandCardiovascular

Surgery,hewaspromotedtoChiefOperatingOfficerwhereheservedforafewyears.ChiptookhisfirstChiefExecutiveOfficerposi-tioninIdabel,OklahomaandhasservedinthispositioninhospitalsfromTennesseetoNewMexico.ChipacceptedthepositionofChiefExecu-tiveOfficerwithBrownwoodRegionalMedicalCenterin

BrunerToyotaBreaksGroundforNewDealership Bruner Toyota broke ground Thursday, October 27th, despite the threat of rain and cold weather, marking the official beginning of the multimillion dollar Toyota dealership that is set to open in August of 2012. The Bruner family, Toyota’s A-Team, dignitaries and local of-ficials joined a large crowd under a tent for the groundbreaking event. Several speakers wished owners Greg and Dwain Bruner well in the endeavor and gave historical accounts of the Bruner fam-ily’s history in auto sales. They also outlined the history of Toyota as a Bruner product and as an asset to the state of Texas.The Bruner family celebrates 84 years in selling automobiles with four generations of experience while this year, Toyota celebrates the five year anniversary of when the first Toyota Tundra rolled off the production line in their plant in San Antonio, according to Bruner Toyota President Greg Bruner.

Bruner Auto Group hosted a ground breaking ceremony on Thursday, October 13th celebrat-ing not only the future of the relocation of their Chevrolet Dealership; but also the anniversary of many automotive milestones. The new General Motors facility at the intersection of Highways 377 and 183, across from Heartland Mall will include a 30,000-square

foot full-service dealership which will house the full line of GM products: Chevrolet, Cadil-lac, GMC and Buick. There will also be a dedicated GM Quick Lube and an 8,000-square foot high technology body shop.

TSTCRededicationandRibbonCuttingforNewFacility The Brownwood campus of Texas State Technical College West Texas marked 20 years in the area on Tuesday, October 25 with special recognitions and re-dedication of their newly remodeled facility with a ribbon cutting. TSTC remodeled their main campus in Brownwood during the summer and moved back into the new state-of-the-art facility in July of this year. Officials from TSTC, the City of Brownwood, Brownwood and Early Chambers of Commerce, and other dignitaries gathered for the event with a ribbon cutting and tours of their campus.

and ribbon cutting of the Flagship Inn at Lake Brownwood. The newly remodeled hotel features 44 rooms conveniently located at Lake Brownwood. Thetraditionhasbeensupportedthrough-outtheyearsbynumerousindividualsandorganizations.Lastyear,morethan1,900mealswereservedoncampusandthroughthehomedeliveryprogram. “Thishasbeenafun,community-wideprojectofneighborscaringforneighborsformanyyears,”saidBillFishback,assistantvicepresidentforbusinessandhumanresourcesatHPU.“Morethan100volun-teers,includingentirefamilies,willhelpservemealsattheMabeeCenterordelivermealsinBrownwoodandEarlytothosewhocannotjoinusoncampus.Itisalsoheart-warmingtoknowthecostsofthemealsarecoveredentirelybydonationsfromindividu-alsandorganizationsinthecommunity.” ThestaffofHPU’sSodexoFoodServicepreparesthemeals.AnyoneunabletojoinfriendsandneighborsattheMabeeCenter
