We are excited to kick off the day with our Runfest 5K

which is a “Jailbreak Run” to benefit the restoration

of the original Royse City jail downtown, which is said

to have been built between 1908 and 1920 and is in

need of repair. Find out more about the jail at:http://

www.tinytexasjails.com/?page_id=597. For more

information on RunFest contact Jim Hardin at

903-238-4567 or [email protected].

After that the festivities kick off with craft vendors,

food, a Kidszone full of fun for every age with items

such as a Bungee Jump, inflatables, train ride, a rock

wall, pony rides and more! Throughout the day we

have events such as a childrens pageant, a doggie

pageant, a truck pull, pie eating contest and even

an actual old west gun fight! To register for the

Children’s pageant, please contact:

[email protected]

If you’re thirsty, look no further than Microfest,

it’s here for a second year and features 20 different

beer brands from local breweries and is held from

2:00 til 8:00 pm. A $25 p/p ticket, if bought online at

www.prekindle.com/texasmicrofest, (cost is $30 p/p at

the door) gives you 8 samples and 8 more additional

samples can be purchased for $5. One more sample

can also be acquired by bringing a canned good

for the Helping Hands Food Pantry. Proceeds from

this event will be donated to the Military Heritage

Museum in Nevada, TX. Visit their website at: http://

fubarmotorpool.com/ to learn about all they offer.
