New Paradigm II: Difference to other F2F-Networks

The difference to other friend-to-friend-networks is:

• ... You never know the IP adress from Friends of your Friends (paradigm II)

• No central server knowing all IP-Adresses of friends

– >> Decentral P2P/F2F -List without any server

Encrypting every transfer

• Every transfer is encrypted (exclusion of the Internet Service Provider (ISP))

• No one can break the encryption, as it is a symmetric key, sent over a second communication channel to the trusted friend

(It is not a asymmetric key over the same lane, over which data packets are sent later.)

History of Filesharing

• 1. Generation: Napster -> download central from a server

• 2. Generation: Gnutella / Emule-Kademlia, Kazaa-> decentral p2p without any server

• 3. Generation: ANts p2p, Mute, i2Phex-> non-direct, encrypted connections

• New 3. Generation: F2F - Turtle -> from P2P to F2F/ paradigms:

1. No connections to public, unkown peers! Only trusted Friends 2. Hopping over friends is possible

= non-direct & decentral

3. Asymmetric Encrypted Connections

• 4. Generation: pplive, joost -> music or TV streams over p2p
