• NEWGARDEN LIKES IOWA: Defending Iowa Corn 300 winner Josef Newgarden returns to Iowa Speedway as a member of Team Penske, but hopes history remains on his side. Newgarden hasn’t fi nished worse than second in the last three races at Iowa Speedway, fi nishing second in 2014 and ’15 before dominating the race last year. Can he deliver Team Penske’s fi rst win at Iowa and become a back-to-back Iowa winner?

• ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT GOES FOR ANOTHER IOWA WIN: No team has been more successful at Iowa Speedway than Andretti Autosport, which has won seven of the 10 races at INDYCAR’s shortest track. Ryan Hunter-Reay has won three times in fi ve years for the team, which had six consecutive wins from 2009-2015. Can Andretti Autosport maintain its mastery of Iowa Speedway?

• WILL TK BOUNCE BACK?: Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan return to Iowa Speedway hoping to return to his winning ways. Kanaan won at Iowa in 2010 when he drove for Andretti Autosport. Now he drives Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 10 car, which won the race in 2008 with the late Dan Wheldon and in 2009 with Dario Franchitti. Can he win another of the track’s iconic gas pump trophies and give the team a third Iowa win?

WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEKEND:

DIXON CONTINUES TO CLIMB ALL-TIME WINS LIST: With his 41st career win at Road America on June 25, Scott Dixon moved within one victory of tying Michael Andretti for third on Indy car’s all-time win list. But the Chip Ganassi Racing star has never won at Iowa Speedway. In fact, he’s never fi nished better than third at the world’s fastest short track. Can he win his fi rst at Iowa Speedway and tie one of the sport’s all-time greats?
