Registration and Breakfast 8:00 am

Introduction/Opening 9:00 am

Suzanne Bates, CEO, BatesAndy Atkins, Principal and Executive Coach, Bates

9:15 am The Science of Executive Presence• Bates will reveal and discuss the three dimensions and 15 facets

of the research-based, scientifically validated Bates Executive Presence Model

• Participants will identify the facets they believe their managers, peers, and direct reports would identify as one of their strengths, and how this drives success in their role.

Break 10:30 am

10:45 amAssessing Your Own Strengths in Executive Presence• The benefits and drawbacks of self-assessment versus multi-

rater feedback; and how each contributes to leader development and insight

• Bates will discuss their research on the social-emotional facets of Executive Presence – and what it means for leaders

11:00 amCase Studies • Participants will read Case Studies based on their role and

objectives (business leader versus talent/HR leader). In small groups (3-4 people), people discuss the following questions:

• What would it be like to work for or with this leader? What would you appreciate, and what might limit their effectiveness?

• On a scale of 1-10, how you would rate the leader’s ability to drive innovation? Come up with a number and explain how you arrived at it.

• Each group shares and discusses how they answered the questions and why.

11:45 amExecutive Presence and Innovation, Change, and Transformation• The group will analyze and discuss Bates data that shows how

the facets and behaviors of Executive Presence are directly correlated to leading innovation, change and transformation.

Lunch 12:00 pm

1:00 pmCase Studies: Executive Presence and Leadership Challenges• Participants read one of two case studies – one about a group

of high potentials, and one about a leadership team. In small groups they review data on the group’s ExPI strengths and gaps in a frequency distribution. We’ll provide context in the case studies on each group’s business imperatives, and give them a set of questions. The teams report out on insights and discuss how the groups’ improvements in Executive Presence align with business results.

1:45 pmExecutive Presence and Teams: Applying the ExPI to High Performing Teams• Participants will consider their own teams’ strengths and gaps in

EP, and we facilitate an exercise to encourage discussion on how to address gaps within teams.

Break 2:15 pm

2:30 pmInsights on Women and Men: How Do Others Perceive Executive Presence?• We’ll take a revealing look at new data on gender that busts

many tenants of conventional wisdom and challenges thinking on how to help women and diverse leaders advance.

• Participants will discuss how they can use these findings to create new paths for women and diverse leaders, that are not “one size fits all”.

Final Takeaways/Discussion/Q&A 3:00 pm
