Main challenges:The business needed to move on from its R&D background to become a rounded capital equipment supplier capable of designing, fabricating, installing and commissioning complete process systems to global clients. From a sales perspective the business needed to enter new international territories and markets, update its website and refocus its marketing message.

Overcoming the challenges:The key was to gain the full engagement and support from the management team and staff on the path to be taken and the phased steps required, and to then execute a raft of focused actions across the business to enhance procedures, create/develop required capabilities and review/redirect our sales message.

What value was your role to them:To coach, engage, and re-invigorate the management team allowing them to recognise the underlying strengths of the business and its technology, whilst describing the vision of what the company has the potential to achieve.

Profile: Stephen Davies

Stephen is an experienced senior executive with board/senior management experience in the Engineering and Technology sectors. The companies he has managed have encompassed Sales & Marketing through Design, R&D, Project Management, Manufacturing, Technical Support Services aspects for both a large corporate and smaller high tech engineering companies.

All the businesses Stephen has been involved with have had a significant international customer base, selling and supplying to the Far East, North & South Americas, Africa as well as mainland Europe.

Several of Stephen’s appointments have involved various aspects of turnaround challenge, requiring strategic reviews of markets & territories and implementation of infrastructure/procedure improvements (new IT systems, relocations etc) whilst minimizing any disruptive impacts to the business.
