2. How I helped an Industrial Engineering client to grow their business to the next level Robin Walker: Initially brought in to help determine the right 3 5 year strategy I have now joined the board and helped deliver thatplan including an overseas acquisitionClient: Robin helped us understand where we needed to go next and also what resources we needed to bring in to help achieve these plans. Additionally he brings great governance skills which our business really needed 3. How I helped an Industrial Engineering client to grow their business to the next level Main challenges They were managing the business with a very short term time horizon andnot looking at where they needed to be long term. Also top management was not delegating effectively or managing with any real process. Overcoming the challenges The key was to get buy in from the owner to a longer term time horizon anda different way of working. The management team have been upgraded and a first overseas acquisition completed and as a result management has to work differently to cope. What value was your role to them:By bringing in another way of looking at things. My previous senior Executive roles brought credibility and experience of doing many of the activities the business now needed to do. Much of what I do now is to ensure we are in line with our plan and helping guide them towards working as a team and delivering as they have agreed. 4.
