Hislop College Alumni Association introduced a novel concept of ‘Training Module’ for the

students selected under HOPE Sponsorship scheme.

This is aimed at holistic development of the students. It focuses on preparing students to meet

any challenges they may face in life and in their academic career. This year the focus was on

personality development and self expression.

The six hour module was conducted over a period of two days by faculty members from the

department of English.

The first module was on career planning, resume and cover letter writing because developing

a resume can be an opportunity for engaging in self-reflective practices. They were given a

detailed account of the various aspects involved in the process, through a highly interactive

session. This was conducted by Ms. Malati Panga on 28th

February 2017.

The second session was conducted by Ms. Shirin Badar on March 1, 2017 on Interview

techniques. The students were provided with an in depth knowledge on what to expect, how

to prepare and how to manage the interview nerves. The students were not only provided with

tips for dealing with tricky interview questions and techniques to overcome them with

confidence but also a list of frequently asked questions.

Both the sessions were highly successful with maximum classroom participation and most of

the students were motivated to be a part of this learning process.
