Mrs. Hadden died March 14th,2012 at the age of 99 years.She was born in Chicago, ILon January 6th, 1913, the fifthof seven children of Agnes(Frano) and George Hamaywho both were immigrants toAmerica from what is now the

Slovak Republic. She grew up on a farm near PawPaw, MI and attended school there. She united inmarriage with Gerald F. Hadden on April 19, 1933,and they resided thereafter in Otsego, MI. Hepreceded her in death in 1991. She was an activemember of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Churchin Otsego, the League of Mary and the V.F.W.Auxiliary. She was employed by the OtsegoDistrict Library for 23 years before retiring in 1982.She enjoyed working crossword puzzles andworking in her flower beds. She was preceded indeath also by her three brothers, three sisters andan infant son, David. She is survived by four sonsand their spouses: Donnelly and Helen Hadden ofAnn Arbor, MI, Dene and Linda Hadden of SouthHaven, MI, Dayle and Karen Hadden of Plainwell,MI and Gary Hadden of Otsego. She is alsosurvived by seven grandchildren, including onespecial granddaughter, Erica Hadden, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews andmyriad friends.

The funeral Mass will be at St. MargaretCatholic Church on Monday, March 19th, 2012 at10 o’clock AM. There will be a visitation from 4pmto 7pm Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 at

His favorite pastimes in the earlyyears were camping and fishing on the ManisteeRiver. In his later years he developed a love(some would call it obsession!) for golf, whichgradually gave way to his newfound passion ofbike riding. He and Catherine cherished manywinters together in Arizona. He was always aloving father and grandfather who will be greatlymissed by his nine children: Lois (Gary) Herline,Robert (Karen) Pelfresne, Gary (Sue) Pelfresne,Nancy Pelfresne, Jim (Sarah) Pelfresne, Linda(John) Stegeman, Bill (Terri) Pelfresne, Lori (Dan)Baas, Janet (Brian) Vestergaard; 15grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Gerald diedTuesday, March13, 2012 inKalamazoo. Jerrywas born July 10, 1947 inKalamazoo to Aaron andEsther (Johnson) Howe andwas a lifelong resident of the

area. He was a graduate of Otsego High Schooland during the Vietnam War served his country inthe U.S. Marines. For many years he wasemployed in the paper industry and during hisleisure time enjoyed watching sports. Survivingare a son and a daughter, Gerald ‘Jerry’ Howe, IIof Plainwell and Rebecca (Adam Posther) Howeof Kalamazoo; siblings, Barbara (Bob) Rietkerk ofKalamazoo, Joann West of Alamo, John (Donna)Howe of Grand Junction, Janet (Ray) Penn ofPortage, David Howe of Las Vegas and Kenny(Phyllis) Howe of Alamo; many nieces andnephews. Preceding him in death were threebrothers and two sisters, Aaron, Sondra, Harold,Norrine and James.
