Please join other senior parishioners on the first Friday of each month for Communion, coffee, and conversation! Beginning Friday, September 4 at noon, Parishioners of the Third Age (Older Adults) are invited to gather in the Sanctuary to cele-brate Eucharist, then to the Parish Hall for lunch, fellowship, and cards and board games! Bring a brown bag lunch, the parish will provide coffee, tea, and dessert, and stay to play Dominoes, Canasta, Monopoly and other games. Jesús —Pan de Vida Eterna Vigésimo-Primer Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Semana del 23 de agosto del 2015 Escucha la Palabra (Juan 6:60 - 69) Al escuchar esta lectura, ¿qué palabras o frases te llaman la atención? ¿Qué parte de la lectura apela a tu corazón? Ve tu vida Pregunta para los niños: ¿Quién y qué te ayuda a creer en Jesús? Pregunta para los jóvenes: ¿A quiénes conoces que verdaderamente luchen por creer? ¿Cómo puedes ayudarlos a luchar contra las dudas? Pregunta para los adultos: ¿A quien acudes cuándo buscas el signifi-cado o las respuestas a las preguntas de la vida? Actividades para la semana Tomen estas actividades para reflexionar más: Para ayudar a su familia a comprender que Jesús es el Pan de Vida Eterna, pida a todos que decoren una tarjeta con este versículo bíblico: “Señor, ¿a quién iremos? Tú tienes palabras de vida eternal.” Digan el versículo juntos todas las noches antes de la cena. Jesús es el Pan de Vida para el mundo. Jesus —Bread of Life Eternal Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time Week of August 23, 2015 Listen to the Word (John 6:60 - 69) As you hear this reading, what words or phrases strike you? What in this reading touches your heart? Look into your life Question for children: Who and what help you believe in Jesus? Question for youth: Who do you know who really struggles with believing? What can you do to help them struggle through doubt? Question for adults: To whom do you go when you are looking for meaning or answers to life’s questions? Activities for the week Take one of these activities to further reflect: To help your family understand that Jesus is the Bread of Life Eternal, ask everyone to decorate a small prayer card with the Bible verse: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Say the verse together each evening before your evening meal. Jesus is the Bread of Life for the world. Take the Georgia Bulletin –our archdiocesan newspaper, and look for information about the efforts of agencies who help feed the hungry in our nation and around the world (i.e., Catholic Relief Services and/or the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.) Talk about how you might become involved in these or-ganizations. Literally, break bread together as a family –take out a loaf of bread and place it on the kitchen table. Gather your family around the table. Invite each person to offer thanks for something in his or her life that God has given him or her. Break the bread and pass it around to each family member. To conclude, hold hands and pray the Lord’s Prayer together. Talk about decisions each family member is facing right now. Each person could write these decisions on a slip of paper. Place all these papers in a special box that the family has decorated. Then, one by one, take them out and pray about them and talk about what would be the best decision. After each discussion, pray that Jesus helps the person to make a good choice.
