Wishing you safe and successful New Year Team of i360 DEAR STUDENTS, Retail is clearly the sector that is poised to show the highest growth in the next five years. The sector is set for a revolution, as both the present players and new entrants are gearing up to explore the market. This sector contributes 10% of India's GDP and the current growth rate is 8.5%. The present size of the organized retailing sector is approximately 3% and is expected to grow to 25-30% by the year 2010. There are about 300 new malls, 1500 supermarkets and 325 departmental stores currently under construction. Many players are coming up with huge investments, due to which the present 12 million mom-and-pop shops and kirana stores fear losing their business. Most predictions say that the sector might reach to US$ 400-600 billion by the year 2010. Retail sector is expected to offer 50,000 jobs in the coming five years. The sector has vacancies from the entry level to senior management level. CAREER IN RETAIL Be a Leader!If you want to be a leader, you will have to practice Start applying the techniques of leadership on those whom you and act to make yourself a leader. It calls for efforts and come across daily. Each day you meet and deal with many persistence from you. No one else can practice the art of people. Take an interest in them and see how you can make them leadership on your behalf & make you a leader. feel happy. You have to will your way & do what you have programmed to do, In day-to-day life, you get hundreds of opportunities to put into what you know is essential to do. If you gain mastery over inertia practice all the leadership principles you have studied in details & distractions with firm will power in the initial stages, it will & you should grasp those opportunities and make the best use of soon become a habit with you. You will then find yourself doing them. the toughest & most difficult deeds in an effortless manner. Success comes with practice, more practice and greater experience. There is no shortcut to success. You have to sweat & work hard. No one has gained and, what is more important, maintained leadership without hard work. Make certain that you remain cheerful all the time. Remind yourself of smile and retain the smile on your lips and eyes. In order to put it into practice, stand in front of a mirror and smile. Watch the difference between a smiling face and a frowning face. When you smile, people notice you. They develop a warmth, liking and sympathy for you.
