CHRISTMAS MARKETInstallation by Realys

“Wandering through the chilly night air of the southern German Christmas markets one passes stalls aglow with fairy lights offering a mix of traditional delights – handcrafted toys, tree decorations and candles. You discover little wooden huts dusted with snow, the fragranc-es of star anise and cinnamon, and the laughter and hum of good friends sharing stories over a warm mug of Glühwein.

“To create the scene of a homely forest chalet – a space with the scent of timber walls, the smell of pinecones, and the warmth of freshly prepared Glühwein and a rug under your feet – we have brought together two of Lamitak’s most expressive wood styles – Corona Maple and Berger Bavarian Oak. We were drawn not only to the warmth of these two styles, but also to the way they bring out the characteristics of wood in very different ways. Rustic Corona Maple was chosen for its ruggedness and its bold celebration of timber tones and textures. Refined Berger Bavarian Oak brings a softness to the space and a sense of the delicateness of a warm interior in mid-winter. The multi-tonality and texture of the designs, and the feel of the grains on the surface, complement the collection of wooden furniture in modern and traditional styles.”
