April 29: FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER Readings: Acts 9:26-31/1 Jn 3:18-24/Jn 15:1-8

We are called to bear much fruit and be Christ's disciples. Since a branch that is cut off from the vine cannot produce fruit, we need to remain connected to the vine and be pruned of all those things that keep us from being fruitful. So let us allow the life of Christ to flow through us so that others can also discover the fruits of joy and love, peace and patience, kindness, goodness and self-control. In this way our lives will praise the Lord and others will come to know his love so that they too may become his disciples.

Gifts can be made to your parish in the following manner: Specific dollar amount: a percentage of your estate or a particular asset such as savings bond, life insurance, real estate or other valuables. Beginning on May 17th Thursday Mass will be at St. George.

From Fr. Tom & Deacon Brian

After unanimous support from the building & maintenance commit-tee as well as the consultation with parish & financial councils. St. Patrick’s Church will soon begin a project to upgrade our heating & electrical systems. The conditions of the current heating system is not efficient and has many components which are no longer functioning. The main parts of the projects are listed below.

• Replacement of the main boiler of the boiler of the church with

a new more efficient hot water boiler.

• Replace all steam registers in the main church with new effi-

cient hot water baseboards.

• Replacement of current radiant beating system in the base-

ment while also utilizing some old equipment which is compat-ible.

• Adding a new power distribution system to the church to re-

place the old failing system,

• Adding a new NG powered generator to allow for the church

to be heated during a power outage Due to the way the old system was operating the church should see significant savings in fuel when this project is complete. The Diocese has approved our capital project which will cost roughly $93,000. We will not need to borrow any money for the project thanks to the generous bequest of the Betty Lyons estate which indicated money should be used for upkeep of St. Patrick's Church, rectory and cemetery. As your aware some restoration work needs to begin in the near future. Your continued financial support of the parish is critical to help meet the day to day operations of our parish. To continue to keep our churches beautiful and in good condition.
