Athletics  Carnival  

On  Friday  20th  February  we  held  our  Yr  5  –  Yr10  Athletics  Carnival  in  glorious  sunshine  at  Collingwood  Harriers  Athletics  Club.    

384  students,  teachers,  parent  helpers  and  Deakin  university  students  attended  the  track  to  participate,  support,  officiate,  rake,  count,  measure,  support  and  cheer  everyone  on.  

Students  participated  in  up  to  six  events  throughout  the  day.  Every  event  was  closely  fought  for  the  prize  of  wearing  the  ‘blue  ribbon’.  There  was  also  the  ‘Fashion’s  on  the  Field’  for  the  best  dressed  and  lastly  the  100m  relay  for  students  and  teachers.

Throughout  the  day  I  saw  students,  parents  and  teachers  cheering,  encouraging  and  socialising  with  BIG  smiley  faces.  I  must  congratulate  everyone  on  their  effort  and  commitment  to  making  the  day  such  a  great  success  and  I  look  forward  to  next  year’s  event.
