Q:

A:

I’ve heard about a Co-op that moved into West Salem. Can you give any information?

According to President, Nancy Crooks: Triad Buying Co-op, Inc. is not a store but a food and grocery membership organization. Once a month members purchase groceries wholesale from a national natural goods seller, just like the nationally known natural

foods stores, and local products like eggs, bread, fruits and vegetables, soaps, meat, and dairy products. Members also have the option to purchase fresh foods such as local milk, breads, and eggs on a weekly basis. TBC was formerly housed in churches, where it sprouted and disappeared like a mushroom every four weeks. TBC’s new home is in West Salem Square (formerly Hewitt Business Center) on S. Marshall Street.

As a co-operative, members actively share the work of the co-op, and enjoy being part of the local food movement and the community-building aspects of working together for a common good. For more information and an online membership application: www.tbcoop.org. TBC INVITES WEST SALEM NEIGHBORS TO TOUR THE CO-OP ON THURSDAY, JUNE 21 FROM NOON TO 1 P.M.

“Please help us tame our yard?”

One Facebook post later…

This is our opportunity as a neighborhood to put our best face forward, to spiffy ourselves up and
