discovered Southern Coloradoon their year-end trip to MesaVerde and Durango. The Classof 2021 hiked, explored, andeven climbing into a kiva in acliff dwelling at Mesa VerdeNational Park!

KIPP Sunshine Peak Academysixth graders visited Utah ontheir year-end trip, where theycamped in Arches and Zionnational parks, white waterrafted and swam in theColorado River, and explorednarrow the trenches of theVirgin River.

By the end of these trips, therewere many tired KIPPsters withamazing experiences to wrapup the school year!

Teacher Spotlight: Phil MunstermanPhil teaches algebra and statistics and is the mathdepartment chair at KIPP Denver Collegiate High School(KDC).

For some mathteachers, thelessons stop atnumbers andformulas. Not forPhil Munsterman,who was one of 9teachers statewideto receive the9Teachers Who Care award from 9NEWS. He's made it hismission to partner with students and families to empower themto pursue their dreams. With 95 percent of KDC studentseligible for free or reduced price lunch, Phil knows many of themhave not had an easy time in life. He believes deeply in what hisstudents can accomplish with the right support system, and hesays his students' desire to be the best rubs off on him.
