CARMARTHEN TOWN www.carmarthentownafc.comCarmarthen Town have swooped to sign their former full back Chris Thomas from Bangor City. The 30 year old accountant put pen to paper last week once his former club released him from his contract."I was after Chris last season," said manager Mark Aizlewood. "I tried to sign him from his then club Llanelli buthe decided to try his luck in the north.""However, we now have him as part of our extended squad."

Thomas, who has played for four other Welsh Premier League clubs, brings a wealth of experience to the OldGold. "He is like a good wine," Aizlewood commented. "He has matured with age."

GAP CONNAHS QUAY www.the-nomads.co.ukThe Nomads can confirm that our final game ahead of the start of the new Welsh Premier League season

will be one to whet the appetite.

The Flintshire Cup fixture will see The Nomads make the short journey to local neighbours Airbus inour final warm up game ahead of the new season.

The Nomads had mixed results against Airbus in the 2012/13 season with a 3-1 extra time defeat in

theWord Cup, a 2-2 Boxing Day draw and a 4-1 New Year's Day victory, so hopefully we can start the

new season with the momentum of a win over the Europa League qualifiers.

Following the recent cancellation of our Friendly with Runcorn Town, the Club are still looking for an

opponent to host us on either 16th/17th July, but an additional friendly against local rivals Buckley

    Town on August 2nd will be added to our current list as below;

Former Stourport Swifts player AJ is a massive coup, having been so influential for the Robins last

season, scoring some vital goals, and playing in various positions.

Cook, who scored a vital winner in a relegation clash against Connahs Quay late on in the season, isalso a big plus point for Bernies pre-season along with former Aber man Williams and formerShrewsbury trainee Mills-Evans.

McNally has already added Mike Platt and Jeff White to his side ahead of the campaign, with a number

of trialists already training at Latham Park.

PORT TALBOT TOWN www.porttalbottown.co.ukGoalkeeper David Burnett is looking forward to another season at the GenQuip stadium after

committing his future to the club but the 23-year-old will first play on the international stage in his

second sport, baseball. The Cardiff-based stopper signed on the dotted line for Scott Young over the summer for a fourth-

season, but it was former Port Talbot manager Mark Jones who called Burnett up to the Welsh baseball

squad for a match against England this weekend.

Burnett will now travel to Liverpool where he is line to receive a second full international baseball cap.

This will be my second full cap, my first one was last year. The fixture against England alternates eachyear and England came to us last summer, so on Saturday well be making the trip up to Liverpool to

play them.Netti made five Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League appearances in 2012/13 and had to be contentwith a place on the bench for much of last seasons campaign, as he vyed for a first-team spot withSteven Hall and Craig Richards, but his reliability and commitment deservedly made him a well-liked

figure amongst supporters.Im happy that Scott wants me back. Its a great club to play for and the fans are second to none, hesaid. It was a horrible feeling narrowly missing out on Europe last season but with most of the team re-signing plus the addition of a few others we will be serious contenders for a Europa spot this year.PRE SEASON FRIENDLIESSaturday 27

biggest stadium the Seasiders will have played in

during their 103 year existence and Town will be the

first Welsh opposition to face Rijeka since the Croats

Rhyl FC www.rhylfc.co.ukRhyl Football Club is pleased to announce to fans the signing of

Northern Ireland under-21 international Jonathan Breeze. Despite

interest from Bury, manager Greg Strong persuaded the highly

rated former Wigan midfielder to join the Lilywhites on a one-

    year deal.

"I'm obviously delighted to get him," said Greg. "Anyone who

knows good, up and coming players knows what a good signing

he is. He was two years a pro at Wigan and a Northern Ireland

under-21 international."His attitude and ability are outstanding. The players have already seen what good quality he has and I

think the fans will really appreciate him. He still wants to play at a higher level and those are the types of

players I want at this football club, those with ambition."

"Strongy called me and I like the way Greg likes to play," explained 21-year-old Jonathan. "Obviously I

want to get back into the football league and this is a great showcase for me.

"I'm a hard-working midfielder who likes to make the team play. The team is tactically very good and

we need to aim as high as we can in the league.

"Definitely one of the big attractions for me is the possibility of European football."

Jonathan immediately goes into the squad for the forthcoming friendlies with Tranmere Rovers and

    Hyde FC.

Having been a youth at Liverpool FC, he signed a two-year pro contract at Wigan Athletic and playedfor coastal neighbours Colwyn Bay last season on his release.

A deal with Bristol Rovers fell through this summer, due to a reduction in club budgets and, despite

interest from Bury FC, Jonathan decided to take up the offer of a one-year contract from Greg.

Boss Greg Strong admitted to being frustrated as the Lilywhites went down 5-0 in their first pre-season

friendly at home to Tranmere Rovers.

"It was frustrating," said Greg after the match. "But it's the first game of pre-season, so we're a million

miles from where we want to be. We know that and there's still a few people missing as well.

"We gained a bit fitness wise but from the footballing side, frustrating, because I know, give it a few

weeks and we would give them a game.

"To be fair as well, in the first half we had all signed lads out there and in the second half we had two

signed lads out there, plus young Dale Lee and Ryan Smith, and the rest of them triallists, so it is what it

is. But yeah it was a little bit frustrating in the end.

Greg said the triallists will get another chance to shine in this afternoon's tussle with Blue Square Bet

Conference side Hyde FC and the manager will make his decisions on them from there.

After another 5-0 pre-season defeat, this time to Hyde FC, manager Greg Strong says it's time to settle

down and give his signed players more game time. Speaking after the loss to Hyde, which came hot on

the heels of Friday's defeat to Tranmere Rovers, the boss was in reflective mood.

"I think if you look at the two games we've gone behind early to defensive errors but then in each first

half we've had signed players and competed.

"Results don't lie but In the second half of both games we've had a team mainly of triallists. You look at

both games overall and we've done ok."The Lilywhites have conceded four times in the second period of both matches with a disjointed side,

after narrowly losing out in the first period to decent opposition, but there is better to come from his

    side.

    7/10

"Look we are missing six or seven players who will make a lot of difference to us," he explained.

"People like Paul McManus, Dave Forbes, Tom Rowlands, Jonathan Breeze will be available for

Marine, Russ Courtney, etc. I think, to be fair to them, it's time to give the signed players more game

    time."

The boss plans to speak with all the triallists over the next few days but is keeping his cards close to his

chest on who he will and will not see more of.

One worry was the way Stefan Halewood pulled up in Friday's match with Tranmere with an apparent

hamstring problem and Greg is hoping it doesn't prove to be costly. A bad pull could mean at leastmonth out of the team. A tear would mean a longer stint on the sidelines.
