All to play for on last SaturdayIn the Championship Conference Carmarthen Townneed to beat champions The New Saints if BangorCity beat Rhyl in order to gain a third place finish andguarantee home advantage in the play-offs.In the Play-off Conference a lot depends on theAberystwyth Town v Port Talbot match tonight.Currently three clubs are on the same points but will

possibly be spared anyway due to HaverfordwestCounty probably missing out again after a 1-4 homedefeat to Taffs Well.

Two clubs in licence successPort Talbot Town and gap Connah's Quay have both

been awarded the FAW Domestic Licence for the2014/15 season following an appeals hearing inCardiff on Tuesday morning. The Corbett Sports WPL duo were the only two clubsto appeal the decision of the First Instance Body not toaward the domestic licence. The domestic licence is a

pre-requisite to participate in the Welsh PremierLeague for 2014/15 season and a total of 14 clubshave achieved the licence, which is a decrease of onefrom last season.

Neither appealed against the UEFA licence fail.

CLUB NEWSABERYSTWYTH TOWN www.atfc.org.uk Aberystwyth Town can exclusively reveal that talismanicmidfielder and Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League TopScorer Chris Venables, has extended his contract at the Club

until the end of 2014/5.Chris told atfc.org.uk this afternoon: "I am delighted to havesigned a new contract with Aberystwyth Town FC. It's a goodtime for the Club with the Welsh Cup Final, EuropeanFootball and potential Stadium Developments coming up, andwe are already looking forward to continue our Challengenext season. What's happening now is just the beginning forAber Town."Manager Ian Hughes said: "It's great that Chris, the best

player in the Welsh Premier League, has signed an extensionto his contract. This is key to the progression anddevelopment of the Club. It demonstrates how far we havecome in such a short space of time. There was never anydanger of Chris leaving us and he deserves immense credit forhis loyalty and dedication. I look forward to securing more ofour players for next season in the coming weeks. AberystwythTown has become a good proposition for players as we look to build on the foundations set this season."Chairman Tony Bates commented: "The hwyl amongst the players is the best Ive known it, and the Boardintends to do its best to try to keep most of the squad together for next season: Chris' one year extension to hiscontract is a start, and I am confident of a few more signatures in the next couple of weeks. Chris has scored 22 Welsh Premier goals already in 2013/4, and has been a key figure in one of the Black andGreens' best seasons for ten years. He also scored vital Welsh Cup goals against Llanfair United, Caersws, and theSemi Final Winner against Holywell Town, which opened the Europa League door for Aberystwyth Town.Club Chairman Tony Bates has spoken out, on behalf of the whole Board of Directors, to publicly congratulateManager Ian Hughes, Assistant Manager Wyn Thomas and the whole First Team Squad on their achievement inqualifying for next season's Europa League.Tony Bates said:"Qualification for the Welsh Cup final and subsequently the Europa Cup is testament to theexcellent standard of football played this season by the first team squad coupled with the astonishing maturity anddecisiveness of the management team of Ian and Wyn.To have achieved so much in spite of the three point deduction meted out by the FAW is particularly satisfying. What was particularly noticeable after the defeat by Bala last week was how much that clearly hurt the lads andthat attitude clearly augurs well for the rest of the sea son and the European campaign. The hwyl amongst the

players is the best Iv e known it and the Board intend to do its best to try to keep most of the squad together fornext season."

NEWTOWN AFC www.newtownafc.co.ukIT DOESNT get much be better than a 3 -0 win away from home was the message from skipper Matt Cookfollowing Saturday s result at Belle Vue. Matt Hearsey gave Newtown the lead, before second half goals in Zach Evans and Neil Mitchell gave Newtown aresounding victory. And the club captain was delighted with the effort and class shown by the team.He said: It doesn't get much better to be honest. I am very happy with the result the lads were tremendous. Aclean sheet is always nice and even at 3-0 the boys at the back were calling for a clean sheet which is great tosee. The score line suggests the game was a comfortable one for the Robins, however the captain believes the hardwork was done in the first half, fending off a lot of Rhyl pressure. He said:I think there were times in the first half that we were un der the cosh largely down to ourselves not doing the right

things in possession. The second half was comfortable thought and I think we prepared right with a tough sessionon Tuesday and also our motivation is to avoid sixth place with a potential quarter final play off. We knew that awin would move us to fourth. And Cook believes the attacking prowess that Newtown possess can win them any game.He said: Our front four can win us games and it proved that way again today. They really play well together an dtoday we showed great counter attacking football creating chance after chance. The Robins have now won their last two games convincingly against tough opposition, and now have two gamesleft ahead of the play-offs. Cook now believes momentum is the key to take forward into the winner takes all

play-offs. He said: As a team we know the importance of going into that first play -off game with momentum andI feel that performances like today are building that momentum. The next two games are vital for us and we wantto win both games to give us the best possible chance in the play offs. The captain also spoke about the huge blow Sean Evans will be as it is expected he will be out for some time. But Cook feels whoever comes in can do a good job. He said:It was horrible to see a team mate injured and we knew instantly it was serious from Sean's reaction. He will be amiss for the team as he does have that bit of magic that can win games. The squad is strong and whoever comes infor Sean will do their best for the team. From personal experience of injuries I know that Sean will be back and he has great back room staff to get him

    back to fitness. "

PRESTATYN TOWN www.ptfconline.co.uk To wns Director of Football, Neil Gibson was full of praise for the fans after their win at Bala I said before last Friday's crucial game that our fans could help drive us on to victory and they did not let medown, they turned up in their numbers and sang for the whole 90 minutes. The second half we were under a bit of pressure as Bala pushed for an equaliser, but those fans kept the teamgoing. This Saturday is huge for us and the club, we have made it that it's in our own hands, I want those fans to crankup the noise even more, Aber are a decent team, they should not be in the bottom six. It will be a tough game, butI know our players can do it and I know that our fans wil l be playing a huge part again It was an excellent performance from the lads today. In the first half I thought we were the far better team and weshould have been out of sight four or five one up by half time but at three two it told a different story. We had to show the other side to us and baton down the hatches. We knew would have chances on the break andthen the fourth goal sealed the victory for us

THE NEW SAINTS FC www.tnsfc.co.uk Swansea City won a fifth FAW Welsh Youth Cup in a row at The Liberty Stadium after beating a brave TNSUnder 19s side by six goals to one. The Swans enjoyed a lot of possession early on but with only eight minutes gone, The Saints nearly found anopening. Ryan Kershaw reacted quickest to a mistake from the Swansea defence but was expertly denied by aJoseph Jones tackle.

The next chance in the match fell to The Swans and Ryan Hedges made no mistake from close range to give hisside the lead. The striker found room in the box before passing the ball past the helpless Stewart Evans.Minutes later and it could have been two nil but Kris Scotts low shot sailed just wide. However, the second goal did come minutes later. Josh Sheehans wonderful pass picked out Hedges who thenreleased Adam King and the midfielder did magnificently well to beat Aaron Simms and then find the bottomcorner to make it two nil.Hedges, who was causing a lot of problems for the TNS defence then scored his second of the game. The strikershot a powerful effort from the edge of the box that went in via a big deflection. The lively Hedges then headed straight against the cross bar as Cameron Toshacks side looked to extend theirthree goal advantage. With 38 minutes gone, Taylor James dribbled past a couple of Swansea defenders before unleashing a powerfulcurling effort that only just went wide.

In first half injury time, Kerhsaw struck a wonderful long distance shot that only just went over the bar.Mark Murch replaced Adam Davies early in the second half but cou ldnt stop a fourth goal for The Swans.Connor Roberts found himself in the box and swept home from close range. Two minutes later and The Saints pulled a goal back. The impressive Kerhsaw did fantastically well to skip past acouple of challenges, before being brought down on the edge of the box. Kershaw picked himself up and then

picked out the bottom corner with Oliver Davies unable to prevent it.The goals continued to fly in and within a minute, Swansea had their four goal advantage back. A brilliant strikefrom Sheehan fizzed past Evans, to make it five one to The Swans after an hour. With just over ten minutes left, Hedges nearly completed an excellent hat-trick. The striker smashed his leftfooted shot against the bar from 25 yards out.Toshack introduced Kyle Copp with only ten minutes left and within 45 seconds of coming on, the forward addeda sixth Swansea goal and that proved to be the last goalmouth action of the final.Full time: TNS Under 19s 1 -6 Swansea. The TNS Under 19s line up consisted of Stewart Evans, Luke Douglas, Adam Davies (Mark Murch 51), AaronSimms, Jordan Wells, Ryan Kershaw (C), Rhys Cooper (Liam Walker 67), Fisnik Hadjari, Taylor James, RyanPryce (James Jones 78) and Dylan Jones. The unused substitutes for The Saints were Greg Fletcher and Olie Beaman.

THE LAST WORD from Gwyn DerfelI had made the trip up to Bangor on Good Friday excited by the prospect of witnessing a good match

between the hosts and The New Saints before being present at a special surprise tribute to Gwyn PierceOwen on his 80th birthday. Gwyn and the Book People faithful would not have been at all happy with

the master-class the Champions put on during the 90 minutes but quietly I think that all football peoplewould have admired the quality of play and goals that TNS created.

We are lucky in the Corbett Sports WPL that our matches are becoming far more family friendly but afew incidents during and after the game involving flares worried me as a parent and a supporter of theLeague. One so called fan let off a green flare in the toilets of the clubhouse which could have hadserious repercussions for anyone suffering from respiratory problems. I urge anyone with informationregarding this incident to contact me please. The recent Dutch Cup Final was held up for 30 minutes due to flares. The facts are simple flares aredangerous and banned.

Once the green smoke had been cleared from the Bangor clubhouse the presentation to Gwyn PierceOwen began. Each and every speaker emphasised their admiration and appreciation of Gwyns work on

behalf of the club and he was visibly touched by the fact that the club had decided to name the mainstand in his honour - a touching and fitting gesture by the club officials.

We are now into the final week of the season with still plenty to play for. All the best of luck toeveryone. Try to enjoy your week !
