Day 17 Sao Tome & Principe AfricaAlong with Principe, Sao Tome is Africa’ssecond-smallest country. These two tiny volcanic bumps anchored off the Gabonese coast will easily win your heartwith their Portuguese-Creole flavour and relaxed vibes. You start by heading to theNational Museum, housed in the former St Sebastian Fortress. Next, there’s a visit to the village of Pantufo to watch “DançoCongo”, a mixture of dance and theatrethat is a cultural feature of Sao Tome. Then to the Cathedral, another of SaoTome’s landmarks, followed by a walkthrough the city’s streets where you can admire the beautiful architecture, much of it an inheritance from the Portuguesecolonial period.

Day 21 Luanda AngolaSince the Angolan Civil War ended in2002, Luanda has undergone a renaissanceof epic proportions. You will witness thistransformation as you drive along MarginalBay to the Igreje de Senhora de Nazare with its beautiful altar made of Italian rose marble. Then to the old Iron Palace “Palacio de Ferro” designed by the famous
architect Gustav Eiffel - of Tower fame, theGothic-style church of Los Remedios, theAngolan National Museum of Anthropologyand the Fortaleza de Sao Miguel. After visiting the mausoleum dedicated to Augostinho Neto, the first president of Angola, you’ll drive through “Cidade Alta”,or uptown, with its pink colonial buildings.

Days 24/25Walvis Bay NamibiaWalvis Bay is situated on a wide lagoon andis home to numerous sea birds including
pelicans and flamingos. Your afternoon destination is the Namib Naukluft National Park – the largest in Africa – thatencompasses part of the Namib Desert and the Naukluft mountain range. The included tour takes you to Swakopmund,the country's biggest coastal town and amecca for Namibians on holiday. Day 26 LuderitzArrive in Luderitz and depart for Kolmanskop, Namibia's most well-knownghost town, situated in the Spergebiet, (forbidden territory). In 1908, the railwayworker Zacharias Lewala found a sparklingstone amongst the sand while he was working in a railway maintenance teamnear Kolmanskop. This sparked a “Diamond Rush” which caused fortunehunters to converge on the town in droves.Large, elegant houses were built and itsoon resembled a German town. The dropin diamond sales after World War I resulted in the decline of Kolmanskop. Today theghost town's crumbling ruins bear little resemblance to its former glory.
Day 27 At seaA final chance to relax as you head for your final port of call, Cape Town in South Africa.
Days 28-30 Cape Town South AfricaThree days in Cape Town allows for plentyof time to explore this iconic city and itssurroundings. No visit to Cape Town is complete without a trip up Table Mountain, the city’s most celebrated landmark, and a ride in the famous cable
car. Table Mountain gets her name from the flat-topped central massif of the mountain, which viewed from the city, is surrounded by Devil’s Peak on the left,Lion’s Head on the right and Signal Hill in the foreground. On your way back to the ship there is a short orientation tour of the city of Cape Town. During yourthree-day stay, you will also have time tovisit Robben Island, discover the beautifulscenery of the Cape Peninsula, or enjoy the Cape Winelands.
