NUEVO LEON – Mexican Air Force and Army troops un-covered a training camp for assassins in the Higueras munici-pality, located in a semi-arid area about 46 kilometers north-east of the northern city of Monterrey.
Air Force helicopters and a dozen patrol vehicles arrived at the camp, which was covered by trees, the morning of May 12. The noise from the helicopters alerted the camp occupants, who ran for the hills.
At the site authorities seized over 200 rifles, 30 handguns, 60 grenades, cellular phones, 12 stolen trucks, 3 anti-tank rockets, 1,375 chargers for several weapons and over 5,000 bullets.
About 60 soldiers chased after the gunmen who were at the camp, which were about 50, but all of them escaped. Only one man who fired against the soldiers was killed in the opera-tion.
According to authorities the site was a training camp for assassins who at one time were part of the armed forces that
protected the Gulf cartel.Throughout the camp soldiers found candles with the image
of the Holy Death located next to food cans, clothing, uniforms with the letter “z” inscribed and dozens of armored gear.
The Zetas armed group was formed by elite military offi-cers who deserted and is considered one of the most violent groups in the country. Originally they were the armed forces that served the powerful Gulf Cartel.
“We located the camp after an anonymous tip”, said the captain who lead the operative.

NUEVO LEÓN – Elementos de la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana y el Ejército desmante-laron un campamento de entrenamiento para sicarios en el municipio de Higueras, una zona semidesértica localizada a unos 45 kilómetros al noreste de la zona metropolitana de Monterrey.
Helicópteros de la Fuerza Aérea y una docena de patrullas se dirigieron a un cam-pamento cubierto por árboles la mañana del 12 de mayo. El ruido de los helicópteros alertó a los habitantes del campamento, quienes escaparon rumbo al monte.
En el lugar las autoridades aseguraron más de 200 rifles, 30 pistolas, 60 granadas, ce-lulares, 12 camionetas robadas, 3 cohetes antitanque, mil 375 cargadores para diferen-tes armas, y más de 5 mil cartuchos de diferentes calibres pendientes de contabilizar.
Alrededor de 60 soldados intentaron atrapar a los sicarios, que eran alrededor de cincuenta, pero todos huyeron. Un hombre que intentó disparar contra los soldados fue el único muerto en este operativo.
De acuerdo a las autoridades el terreno era un centro de entrenamiento para sicarios del ex brazo armado del cártel del Golfo.
En diversos puntos del campamento se encontraron veladoras con la imagen de la Santa Muerte, al lado de latas de comida, ropa, uniformes con la letra zeta y decenas de fornituras.
El grupo militar de Los Zetas que surgió de desertores militares de élite, es uno de los más violentos del país, y originalmente fue el brazo armado del poderoso cartel de las drogas del Golfo.

Former Mexican governor charged with money laundering and drug trafficking in the US

MEXICO CITY – Mario Ernesto Villanueva, former Quintana Roo state governor, has been extradited to the United States and now faces charges of money laundering and drug trafficking.
Villanueva arrived in White Plains, New York, May 9 and had a hearing before a judge May 11.
He is accused of assisting in the transportation of over 200 tons of Colombian cocaine to the United States while he was in office, from 1995 to 1999. According to official documents, the Juarez Cartel transported drugs to Texas and New York from Cancun, using high speed boats which were protected by armed men. In exchange for this service, Villanueva received between $400,000 and $500,000 per shipment.
Villanueva also faces 14 charges of money laundering for a total of $19 million, money he got by helping the drug cartels. According to U.S. authorities, Consuelo Marquez, who was in charge of Villanueva’s account at Lehman Brothers, Inc, who helped him hide the money and transfer it to banks in Switzerland, Panama, Bahamas and Mexico under fake company names. She did this between 1995 and 2000.
Marquez pleaded guilty of conspiracy and money laundering in 2005. She was sentenced to 3 years probation and a year of home confinement. She is collaborating with authorities.
During the hearing before a judge, Villanueva pleaded not-guilty. He is being held at the Westchester County jail, in a special prison for detainees with medical conditions, where he will undergo a medical evaluation.
Villanueva’s next day in court is July 14. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison on the narcotics charges, and a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison on each of the 14 money laun-dering counts.

MEXICO, D.F. – Mario Ernesto Villanueva, ex gobernador de Quintana Roo, fue extraditado a los Estados Unidos y ahora enfrenta cargos de lavado de dinero y narcotráfico.
Villanueva llegó el 9 de mayo a la ciudad de White Plains, Nueva York y fue presentado ante un juez el 11 de mayo.
Él está acusado de facilitar el tránsito a Estados Unidos de más de 200 toneladas de cocaína colombiana, mientras fue gobernador del estado, entre 1993 y 1999.De cuerdo a documentos oficiales, El cártel de Juárez transportaba la droga a Texas y Nueva York desde Cancún, ope-rando lanchas rápidas de noche, las cuales eran protegidas por hombres armados. Por casi una semana he visto y escuchado las críticas y amenazas de boicot a Arizona. He visto a la izquierda vol-verse loca, a los medios hispanos volverse locos, y franca-mente me siento como que yo también me estoy volviendo un poco loco. Pero por una razón diferente: porque creo que todos estos ataques a la ley de Arizona son ridículos. Especialmente cuando vienen de un congresista estadouni-dense.
El Representante Luis Gutiérrez (demócrata de Illinois representando al cuarto distrito) dice que esta ley es “una catástrofe de los derechos civiles que los republicanos en Arizona están desatando sobre los inmigrantes y latinos en el estado”. (Sin importar que, de acuerdo a Rasmussen, el 51 por ciento de los demócratas de Arizona y el 69 por ciento de los independientes apoyaron esta propuesta). El representante Luis Gutiérrez dijo en National Public Radio que deberíamos boicotear las vacaciones en Arizona: “¿Por qué quiere alguien contribuir a un grupo de personas que están claramente inmersas en un acto discriminatorio?” Yo ciertamente no lo haría, pero no creo que eso es lo que está pasando ahí. La gente de Arizona no ha cometido ningún crimen. Ellos no están “discriminando”. Ellos simplemente están pidiendo a las autoridades que hagan de Arizona un lugar menos hospitalario y acogedor para los inmigrantes indocumentados. Ellos solo quieren un fin para esta locura.
Después, en el Huffington Post, el representante Gutié-rrez criticó a la administración Obama por deportar a más de mil personas por día, a un ritmo más acelerado que la ad-ministración Bush, y por no hacer nada sobre una reforma migratoria. Criticó a Arizona por alentar los perfiles racia-les. Criticó a la Agencia de Control de Aduanas e Inmigra-ción (ICE, por sus siglas en inglés) por una redada reciente a un grupo de tráfico de personas.
Y terminó con: “Vamos a ser claros, yo apoyo un cum-plimiento dirigido en contra de redes de contrabando que
explotan nuestro sistema de inmigración resquebrajado y hacen presa de los inmigrantes vulnerables, pero el momen-to de hacer esta demostración de fuerza no pudo haber sido más destructivo”.
¿Qué hay de claro en esto? ¿Qué hay de claro en cual-quiera de sus posturas, congresista? Usted no quiere depor-tación. Usted no quiere que Arizona multe a inmigrantes ilegales. Y usted no quiere que ICE haga su trabajo.
Representante Gutiérrez, muchos de nosotros queremos saber, si usted no está dispuesto a multar a inmigrantes ile-gales, ¿qué está dispuesto a hacer para hacer cumplir nues-tras leyes de inmigración? ¿Debe haber consecuencias para la inmigración ilegal? ¿Hay algunas otras leyes que usted cree se deben ignorar?
Me gustaría que fuera directo y dijera que quiere fron-teras abiertas. Entonces podría ser completamente claro y admitir que está a favor de la amnistía, no porque es bue-no y compasivo, pero porque ve a estos inmigrantes como posibles bloques de votantes, como más personas que se volverán dependientes de su poder. Pero creo que no vamos a escuchar esto.
Pero lo que vamos a escuchar es que el representante Gu-tiérrez fue uno de los oradores en un mitin el lunes por la noche, dirigido al gobernador Pat Quinn. Él quiere que el gobernador contrate a más latinos porque son el grupo ét-nico más grande de Illinois. Un número oficial más alto de Latinos podría significar que el podría demandar más cuo-tas, y tener más trabajos para distribuir a cambio de favores políticos. Así es como funciona todo.
Lo que hace que los comentarios del representante Gu-tiérrez sean tan insultantes y ridículos es que Arizona tiene un verdadero problema con un aumento en la inmigración ilegal en medio de una crisis económica. Del año 2000 al año 2008 la población de inmigrantes ilegales en el estado aumentó 70 por ciento, de acuerdo con estadísticas del De-partamento de Seguridad Nacional. Él está claramente más
interesado en poner los derechos de los inmigrantes ilegales por encima de los de las personas del país al que él ha pro-metido servir. Está claramente más interesado en su propio beneficio que en el beneficio general del país.
Por esta y muchas otras razones, creo que la gente de Ari-zona ha esperado por mucho tiempo, por las promesas del gobierno federal de asegurar nuestras fronteras y “arreglar” la inmigración. Mientras que estamos ocupados debatiendo y discutiendo y no haciendo nada sobre el problema de la inmigración ilegal en este país, la seguridad del agente de Arizona está en peligro y su sustento está siendo arrebatado de sus manos.
Esto no quiere decir que yo no entiendo sus preocupacio-nes sobre esta ley. Soy latino y entiendo muy bien la reali-dad de los perfiles raciales; sé que hablar en español hace que la gente me vea de reojo en público. Entiendo que el racismo tiene un papel muy real en el debate de inmigración en este país (por ejemplo, ¿han escuchado que alguien se queje de los ilegales canadienses, irlandeses, polacos, litua-nos, etc., que trabajan en todas las industrias en los Estados Unidos?, yo tampoco. ¡Pero ellos están aquí!).
Pero el miedo de parecer racista no debería hacer que evi-táramos buscar a quienes quebrantan las leyes en este país. Lo que Arizona ha propuesto es que cualquier inmigrante que no tenga documentación (algo que el gobierno federal ya requiere de los inmigrantes, pero que no hace cumplir) sea acusado de un crimen menor castigable con hasta seis meses en la cárcel y una multa de hasta 2 mil 500 dóla-res. Ellos no están siendo deportados. Las familias no están siendo separadas. Esta no es una ley cruel y sin corazón. Es un paso para obtener el control de un sistema fuera de control.

For almost a week now, I’ve watched and listened to the criticisms of and threatened boycotts of Arizona. I’ve seen the Left go nuts, the Hispanic media go nuts, and frankly, I’m left feeling like I’m going a little nuts. Albeit for a totally different reason: namely, because I think all these attacks on the recent Arizona bill are ridiculous. Especially when they come from a U.S. Congressman.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL4) calls this bill a “civil rights catastrophe that Republicans in Arizona are unleashing on immigrants and Latinos in the state.” (Never mind, that accord-ing to Rasmussen, 51% of Arizona Democrats and 69% of Independents supported this bill.) On National Public Radio Rep. Gutierrez said that we should boycott vacationing in Arizona: “Why would you want to contribute to a group of people that clearly are engaged in a discriminatory act?” I certainly wouldn’t, but I don’t think that’s what’s going on here. The people of Arizona haven’t committed the crimes. They aren’t being “discriminatory.” They’re simply asking their authorities to make Arizona less hospitable and accommodat-ing to undocumented immigrants. They just want an end to the madness.
Then, in the Huffington Post, Rep. Gutierrez slams the Obama administration for de-porting more than 1,000 people/day—at a faster rate than the Bush administration ever did—and for doing nothing about immigration reform. He slams Arizona for inviting racial profiling. He slams the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for a recent raid on a human smuggling ring.
And then he wraps it all up with: “Let's be clear, I support targeted enforcement against smuggling rings exploiting our broken immigration system and preying on vulnerable im-migrants, but the timing of this show of force could not have been more destructive.”
Huh? What’s clear about this? Actually, what’s clear about any of your positions, Con-gressman? You don’t want deportation. You don’t want Arizona to fine illegal immigrants. And you don’t want ICE to do its job.
Many of us want to know, Rep. Gutierrez: If you aren’t willing to fine illegal immigrants, what are you willing to do to enforce our immigration laws? Should illegal immigration carry any consequences? Are there any other laws you think we should also ignore?
I wish he would just come out and say he wants open borders. Then he could come totally clean and admit he favors amnesty not because he’s so kind and compassionate but because he sees these immigrants as potential voting blocks, as more people to become dependent
on his power. But I’m guessing we won’t hear that bit.But what we will hear is that Rep. Gutierrez was one of the speakers at a rally Monday
night aimed at Governor Pat Quinn. He wants the governor to hire more Latinos because they make up the largest ethnic population in Illinois. A higher official population of La-tinos would mean he’d be able to demand larger quotas—and have more “reward” jobs to pass out for political favors. It’s how this all works.
What makes Rep. Gutierrez comments so insulting and ridiculous is that Arizona has a real problem with soaring illegal immigration amid economic crisis. From 2000 to 2008, the state’s illegal immigrant population has increased 70%, according to Department of Homeland Security statistics. He’s clearly more interested in putting the rights of illegal immigrants over those of the people of the country he’s promised to serve. He’s clearly more interested in his own benefit than the overall good of the country.
For this and many other reasons, I think the people of Arizona have waited for too long—for the promises of the federal government to secure our borders and “fix” immigration. While we’re busy debating and discussing and doing nothing about the illegal immigration problem in this country, the safety of the people of Arizona is in jeopardy and their liveli-hood is being taken away.
This is not to say I don’t understand he concerns with this bill. I am Latino, and I under-stand full well the reality of racial profiling; I know that speaking Spanish garners shifty looks from the public. I understand that racism plays a very real role in the immigration debate in this country (e.g., do you ever hear anyone complain about the illegal Canadians, Irish, Polish, Lithuanian, etc. working in all sorts of industries across the U.S.? Me neither. Though they are here!).
But fears of appearing racist shouldn’t prevent us from going after actual law-breakers in this country. What Arizona has proposed is that any immigrant found without documen-tation (something the Federal government already requires—but doesn’t enforce—of im-migrants) is charged with a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $2500. They’re not being deported. Families are not being broken up. This is not a cruel, heartless bill. It’s one step toward getting control of an out-of-control system.

Mayor and alder-man battle it out during council meeting

AURORA – Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner and 4th District Alderman Rick Lawrence staged a heated ex-change of words that almost led to Lawrence’s expulsion from the meeting.
The incident happened May 11 during the council meeting, when the aldermen were considering the appointment of Avis Miller to the Aurora Housing Authority Board.
The mayor can appoint board members, but they must be con-firmed by city council.
During the meeting Lawrence wanted to know Miller’s opinion about the work the Authority has been doing and about the relation-ship between School District 129 and the Authority.
Lawrence has been a long-time critic of AHA. He has questioned the use of taxpayers’ money and the bad conditions of a lot of the properties, and in the past he has asked for the board to be disbanded.
Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns objected to Lawrence’s questions and the Mayor supported her objec-tion, causing Lawrence to protest. Weisner told Lawrence he was out of place and told him to stop or he would be removed from the meet-ing. Both men kept interrupting each other for several minutes.
In the end, Lawrence wasn’t ex-pelled and he was the only alderman who voted against Miller’s confir-mation to the AHA board.

AURORA – El alcalde de Aurora Tom Weisner y el concejal del Distri-to 4 Rick Lawrence protagonizaron un acalorado intercambio de palabras que casi provocó la expulsión del concejal de una junta de concilio.
El incidente se registró el 11 de mayo, durante la junta de concilio, cuando sus integrantes estaban considerando el nombramiento de Avis Miller a la mesa directiva de la Autoridad de Vivienda de Aurora.
El alcalde puede nombrar a los miembros de la mesa directiva de la Autoridad de Vivienda, pero estos nombramientos deben ser confirmados por el concilio en pleno.

Officer who saved baby is Police Officer of the Year

AURORA – An Aurora Police Officer credited with saving the life of a 20 day old baby who had suddenly stopped breathing was named the 2009 Aurora Exchange Club “Police Officer of the Year” May 11.
Officer Anikka Molitor was laud-ed for her actions on April 10, 2009, when she responded to a call to assist an ambulance that had been dispatched to a home on the city’s near, northeast side. Arriving before the paramedics, she administered CPR to the infant until the baby again began breathing. The child was then transported to an Aurora hospital by Aurora Fire De-partment personnel, and airlifted to a suburban hospital for treatment of an ongoing medical condition.
Doctors and paramedics praised the officer’s actions saying that typi-cally, babies have only about a one percent chance of survival in similar circumstances. At the ceremony it was announced that the child celebrat-ed her first birthday this past March.
In accepting the award, Officer Molitor credited the training she has received and also recognized paramedics for their life saving measures on the little girl.
“The Aurora Police Department is filled with excellent officers and I’m sure that any one of them would have done the same thing. This is a shared award with the Aurora Police and Aurora Fire Departments”.
Officer Molitor began as an Aurora Police Cadet in September, 2005, and was sworn-in as a police officer in June, 2007.

La oficial Anikka Molitor fue reconocida por sus acciones del 10 de abril de 2009, cuando respondió a una llamada para auxiliar a una ambulancia que había sido enviada a una casa en el noreste de la ciudad. Al llegar antes que los paramédicos, la oficial dio resu-citación cardiopulmonar al bebé hasta que empezó a respirar. El infante fue transportado a un hospital de Aurora y después a otro centro médico para recibir tratamiento por una condición médica.

en general tienen solo un uno por ciento de posibili-dades de sobrevivir en situaciones similares.

MEXICO CITY – The Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Soccer Federation an-nounced that goalie Omar Ortiz has been suspended for two years, after testing positive for two prohibited substances during a match in the 9th week of the 2010 Bicentennial Tournament.
The player, better known as “El Gato”, is a goalie with Monterrey. He tested positive March 6 during a match against Pachuca, and also during a Libertadores Cup game March 10. The Conmebol also suspended the player indefinitely.

RIO DE JANEIRO – The coach of the Bra-zilian National Team, Dunga, issued this week the list of players that will represent Brazil in South Africa next month. Two surprises were in store: Adriano and Ronaldinho weren’t called to the team.
Adriano lost his spot in the national team due to personal issued that have sidelined him for almost half of the season with the Flamen-go team this year.
“We gave Adriano several opportunities (...) to correct a particular situation, but then there is the issue of compromise. It came to a point that we had to make a decision for the team. It is a coach’s decision,” Dunga said.
Ronaldinho also was left out of the team. He was named Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005 by FIFA.
His great work with AC Milan had fed the speculation that he would be called to the team, but it didn’t happen. Ronaldinho hasn’t been called to the national team since April 2009.

WASHINGTON – El servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración (USCIS, por sus siglas en inglés), anunció que ha rediseñado la tarjeta de resi-dente permanente, para hacerla más segura.
La tarjeta de residencia, conocida como la “tarjeta verde”, va a incluir tecnología de punta para evitar frau-des, obstruye su alteración y facilita verificar su autenticidad. Las nuevas tarjetas ya están siendo emitidas por el gobierno.
Las nuevas tarjetas, que tienen el color verde, incluyen datos bio-métricos para identificar a quien la porta. Además cuenta con imágenes holográficas, huellas digitales gra-badas por láser y micro imágenes de alta resolución harán casi imposible que la tarjeta sea reproducida.
El nuevo diseño ha incluido más elementos personalizados para ha-cer más difícil su alteración en caso de robo.
La nueva tarjeta tiene una capa-cidad de identificación por radiofre-cuencia, lo que permitirá a oficia-les de inmigración y aduanas en la frontera leer las tarjetas a distancia y comparar la información con el sistema.

104 people die in Libya plane crash

TRIPOLI – A Libyan plane with 104 people on board crashed March 12 just before landing at the Tripoli airport, leaving scattered debris on its wake. The only known survivor is a 10 year-old Dutch boy.
The child was taken to a Tripoli hospital, where he underwent sur-gery to take care of several broken bones on both legs. Libyan television showed the boy with a swollen eye, wearing an oxygen mask and mul-tiple IV fluid lines. Doctors say his life is not in danger.
The Royal Dutch Tourism Ministry issued a statement saying 61 of the passengers were Dutch nationals who were traveling back from spring break in South Africa. Flight 771 was carrying 93 passengers and 11 crew.
Other passengers were from France, Germany, South Africa, Finland, England and Libya.
The plane crashed a few minutes before landing, after a flight that last-ed over 7 hours that crossed the African continent. The flight originated in South Africa.
Mohammad Zaidan, Libya’s Transportation Minister Mohammad Zaidan, said the plane’s two black boxes have been found and turned over to analysts. He said the plane crash is under investigation, but authorities have ruled out a terrorist attack.

WASHINGTON – The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it has redesigned the Permanent Resident Card to incor-porate more security features.
The card, commonly known as the “green card”, includes state-of-the-art technology to prevent counterfeiting, obstruct tampering and fa-cilitate quick and accurate authentication. The new cards are now being issued by USCIS.
The card is color green and includes secure optical media that stores biometric information for rapid and reliable identification of the holder. It also includes holographic images, laser engraved fingerprints and high resolution micro-images to make the card almost impossible to repro-duce.
The new design also includes more personalized elements to make it difficult to alter in case it is stolen.
The card also features radio frequency identification capabilities, which will allow Customs and Border Protection officers at ports of en-try to read the card from a distance and compare it to file data.
Permanent Resident cards already in circulation will be replaced when holders applied for renewal or replacement.

MEXICO CITY – Singer Alejandra Guzman has donated 2,000 mammograms to low-income women in Mexico City and seven states, as part of her efforts to fight against breast cancer.
Guzman, who suffered the disease several years ago, wants to create awareness among young women about the importance of prevention.
“I am a breast cancer survivor. I am one of the lucky ones who found it so small that now I have the awareness and the duty to share it with women, with girls and young women that see this as something very far from them. AS a woman and as a mother I have the duty to help, especially in places that don’t have easy access to health services,” Guzman said during a press conference in Mexico City.
The singer said that during her shows she will sell cloth bracelets, and the proceeds from those sales will benefit the Alejandra Guzman Foundation to keep donating mammograms.

LOS ÁNGELES – El Concilio de la Ciudad votó el 12 de mayo a favor de boicotear a los negocios y empresas de Arizona, en protesta por la nueva ley en el estado en contra de la inmigración ilegal.
Este voto es más bien simbólico, ya que solo un pequeño porcentaje de los tratos comerciales de la ciudad se verán afectados.
Esta resolución prohíbe a la segunda ciudad en el país que realice transacciones comerciales o busque nuevos contratos con empresas de Arizona, a menos que la ley SB 1070 sea revocada, además, prohíbe la mayoría de viajes de negocios a ese estado para empleados del estado. Alrededor de 7.7 millones de dólares en contratos de la ciudad con empresas de Arizona podrían verse afectados.
Esta boicot fue aprobado un día después de que la gober-nadora de Arizona, Jan Brewer, firmara una ley que afecta directamente al distrito escolar de Tucson, y que prohíbe clases que fomentan la solidaridad étnica, que están dise-ñados principalmente para estudiantes de una raza en par-ticular o que promueven el resentimiento en contra de un cierto grupo étnico.
El distrito escolar de Tucson ofrece cursos especializa-dos en estudios afroamericanos, mexicoamericanos y nati-vo americanos que se enfocan en la historia y la literatura y además dan información sobre la influencia de un grupo étnico particular.
La ley no prohíbe clases que enseñan la historia de un grupo étnico en particular, siempre y cuando esté abierto a todos los estudiantes y no promueve la solidaridad étnica o el resentimiento.
LA City Council approves Arizona boycott because of SB 1070 Nazi-style law

LOS ANGELES – Los Ange-les City Council voted May 12 to approve a boycott of businesses in Arizona, in protest for the new law that that state passed against illegal immigration.
This vote is mostly symbolic, because only a small fraction of city business is being affected.
The resolution prohibits the second city in the nation to con-duct business transactions or to look for new contracts with Ari-zona businesses, unless SB 1070 is revoked. It also prohibits most city business trips to that state.
About $7.7 million in city contracts with Arizona compa-nies could be affected.
This boycott was approved a day after Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a law that directly affects the Tucson School Dis-trict and that prohibits classes that foster ethnic solidarity, classes that are directed towards students of a particular ethnic group or that promote resent-ment against a particular ethnic group.
Tucson school district offers specialized courses in African-
American, Mexican-American and Native-American studies that are focused in literature and history and provide information about the influence of a particu-lar ethnic group.
The law does not prohibit classes that teach history of a particular ethnic group, as long as the classes are open to all stu-dents and don’t promote ethnic solidarity or resentment.
