Vacation Bible School volunteers needed! Vacation Bible School is planned for June 12-15 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon and it can't happen without the help of our volunteers! We need adult volunteers and young volunteers (rising seventh grade up) to help in all areas. If you want to join the fun and help with this fun event, call Faye Webster at (678.467.0336) or e-mail her at [email protected]. Legacy of Caring, Bear Paw Bakery will be accepting your dona-tions of homemade cupcakes, cakes, cookies, sweet rolls, brownies & snacks, including gluten-free and diabetic friendly items, from 10 am to 4 pm, on Thursday, May 18. To avoid the need for bakers to park and walk in, we will set up a table in front of the rear kitchen door (near the top of the stairs to the lower parking area) with a volunteer ready to re-ceive donations from each driver. If you are delivering on Friday morn-ing, please drop them off at the kitchen as close to 9 am as possible. Please label all donations and mark if your item contains nuts. Volun-teers will package and price items for sale. Also if any bakers are in need of medium or large cake containers or pie containers, please contact Syl Harnesberger, 706 268 2688.

Thank you for baking! The Legacy of Caring is hosted by Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild to benefit charitable organizations whose pri-mary focus is the wellbeing of women and children.

Angels in the Woods is a year round program through which dona-tions can be made to the Women’s Guild Legacy of Caring to honor or in memory of a person or group. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we invite you to consider celebrating a life by making a donation. Look for the Angels in the Woods’ Celebration of Life donation form in your alpha box or visit www.bigcanoelegacy.org/Angels for more information.

Flowers in the Chapel

today have been placed by the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild to honor all of the women of Big Canoe Chapel. We would also like to honor Betina Shearer and her Legacy of Caring Committee for their ef-forts in fund raising this year.

Sympathy

The Chapel family extends sympathy

to the family of Tom Roddy. Tom passed away in Atlanta on May 5th.

From the Senior Chaplain

This is a wonderful and exciting time of the year at Big Canoe Chapel. Two weeks ago the Chapel awarded around 125 scholarships for students in Pickens and Dawson coun-ties. The scholarship presentation service is always one of the highlights of our year. When we look into the faces of those young people we see a future that gives all of us hope and en-couragement. We pray that their hearts and lives will always be committed to serving Christ. We’re also thankful for the tireless work of the scholarship committee as the selections were made. They served so well!

Next Sunday we will commission and send forth the mission team to Ecuador. We will be reminded to pray for them daily as they serve as the hands and feet of Christ. I hope you will find the opportunity to speak to each mission-ary and encourage them with your love and support.

The Women’s Guild’s Legacy of Caring is this week. The amount of preparation, prayer, and energy directed to-ward the Legacy of Caring is truly phenomenal. Many people in our area will benefit by virtue of someone who truly cares. That’s our Women’s Guild!

Getting ready for Vacation Bible School is going full steam ahead. Teachers, leaders, and an army of volunteers are looking forward to a great week. It’s one of the happiest weeks of our church year. Remember the dates—June 12-15.

The Ministry Fair will be held on Sunday, June 4. Guess what? That day is also Pentecost Sunday! What an ap-propriate time for us to be reminded of the spiritual gifts that are exercised at Big Canoe Chapel. The Ministry Fair will be set up in Cousins Hall for Stand-Around and after the 10:30am worship service. I believe it’s going to be an inspir-ing event.

Shall I continue? Day Camp, Terraces Concerts, Ves-pers on Wednesday, Trustees consecration, and the list con-tinues. In many churches, the summer is sort of a down time. Not here! We’ll continue as in faith as the Lord leads and em-powers.

Here I am Lord,

Len
