Dear readers,
Soon enough spring will be here. At least in Berlin one could enjoy the sun and a little bit warmer temperatures during the past few days, after a short onset of winter.
For our February issue we have chosen to explore this de-velopment in our EDITORIALS; the movement from cold to warm weather, beginning with the editorial ‘The War Tra-velogue’ by photographer DOMINGO NARDULLI and our cover-editorial ‘Anti-Antipodes’ by FREDRIK ALTINELL. Finally, we show the editorial ‘Pattern’ by TERU, in which one feels already arrived right in the warmer season.
And, not to forget, we present our winner of the EDITO-RIAL VOTING, whom you have voted in. This time around its the New York based photographer, CORY PAVITT, whom we have conducted an interview with about his work as a pho-tographer. You may also find the interview online on our website.

Last but not least, a few days after Berlin Fashion Week closed its doors, we had the season of summer in mind - and most impor-tantly, the call for applications for the 2014 DESIGNER FOR TOMORROW award. So with the event fast approaching in July, we can finally say we have almost reached warm weather.

"The War Travelogue" are the memories collected by Giuseppe, a young man en-listed in the Italian par-tisan resistance to fight for the liberation of his country. He would give his life to defend his homeland and the future of his peo-ple.With courage, curiosity and great team spirit he was eager to make his con-tribution to a honourable cause. But soon he saw how the war is horrible and
atrocious. The life of a partisan was completely different from the poetry adventure that he had imag-ined in his patriotic dreams. The days went slow and hard walking through the mountains and doing am-bushes to the enemy, with the awareness that every day could be the last one. The cold winter and the scarcity of provisions made it increasingly difficult
to survive in a war that seemed to have no end.But when it finally ceases to be fought, Giuseppe real-izes that he is no longer the person that he was be-fore. In his eyes constant-ly returned those horrible images, the massacres, the death of his companions on the battlefield.Now he will never be a normal person.

Up-and-coming talents from all over Europe can apply for the "De-signer for Tomorrow" award in July 2014. The final date for re-ceipt of applications for the latest "Designer for Tomorrow" round ends on February 28, 2014.
