Great skin can be achieved with S.M.A.R.T. goal-oriented skin care habits...Here are some tips:
Specific
Like anything else, zeroing in on specific goals has a better chance of success than general goals.
Ask yourself the five “W” questions: What results do I want from my skin care products and treatments? Why do I want my these goals? Who will be involved in helping me create better skin care habits? Which requirements and constraints should I consider in this process? Where will I go for my facial treatments?
Measurable
Establish measurable criteria to determine the success of your progress. Measuring your progress helps you track your path towards success and helps keep your eye on the prize!
How has your skin changed since you began your skin care regiment and/or treatments? How much clearer does your skin complexion look (clarity)? When you touch your skin, does it feel softer or smoother (texture)? Does your skin look hydrated, firm, or unblemished (tone)? Change takes time. Give your skin the chance it needs to go through its natural renewal process.
Attainable
You can achieve most of anything your mind sets out to do, as long as you plan your path in a realistic timely manner. Manage your expectations! Skin care products and treatments can’t stop the aging process, but they can help slow it down.
Relevant
Are your goals realistic? Do you have the support you need to achieve them? If you’re g e t t i n g r e g u l a r f a c i a l treatments but fail to use proper skin care products in between treatments, results become harder to achieve. As well, expecting results with products not suited for your skin type or condition is unrealistic.
Time-bound
Ground your goals with a target achievement date. Setting a “by when” date creates a sense of urgency to keep you focused. Ask your skin care expert for advice. Remember: change doesn’t happen overnight with skin care products!
