ICTS�TAKEN�TO�THE�TOWER!�

DetAct�TTT�Birmingham�Oct�Nov�2009��During�October�and�November�2009,�trainers�from�all�over�the�UK,� Ireland,�France�and�Israel�gathered�in�Birmingham�Airport�to�attend�the�DetAct�“Train�The�Trainer”�course,�delivered�by�Shmulik�(Sam)�Juchtman.��

DetAct�is�a�methodology�currently�used�in�various�locations�/�departments�around�the�world�including:�����

�� Canary�Wharf��� Heathrow�Express�London��� Mumbai�Police��� Immigration�&�Police�Officers�(Shanghai)��� Houston�Intercontinental�Airport��� Hong�Kong�International�Airport��� Beijing�International�Airport�&�Air�Marshals��� University�of�Maryland�PD��� Glasgow�International�Airport,�and�many�more.�

��DetAct�is�based�on�the�detection�(by�trained�agents)�of�suspicious�signs�in��both�appearance�and�behaviour.��This�methodology�was�first�devised�in� Israel� in�the�70’s�to�counter�terrorist�attacks�and�has�gone�through�certain�modifications�in�order�to�adapt�it�to�the�terrorist�threat�the�world�is�currently�facing.���

�The�principle�is�very�simple.��In�order�to�detect�anything�that�is�unusual,�we�must�first�familiarise�ourselves�with�our�surroundings�(this�will�enable�us�to�spot�the�unusual).��Through�scanning�the�crowds�and�detecting�a�person�who�is�exhibiting�suspicious�appearance/behaviour,�we�are�able�to�carryout�a�targeted�conversa�tion�with�that�individual.��This�then�enables�us�to�either�dismiss�or�confirm�our�suspicions�and�apply�the�ap�propriate�action�plan.�As�opposed�to� ‘Interviewing’�where�we�specifically� target�passengers�on�our� flight,�this�methodology�expands�to�all�locations�through�the�various�circles�of�security.���

As�DetAct� is�going�to�be� introduced�throughout� ICTS�UK�&� Ireland� it� is�our� jobs�as�trainers�to�deliver� the�methodology�to�all�our�employees.�As�part�of�the�course�we�attended,�we�were�required�to�deliver�a�DetAct�presentation�in�the�classroom�to�our�fellow�trainers.��We�were�all�quite�apprehensive�and�nervous,�as�the�thought�of�being�scrutinised�by�our�colleagues�was�frightening!�However�everyone�was�very�supportive�and�the�presentations�were�delivered�professionally�and�concisely.���

The�training�session� in�Birmingham�also�gave�the�trainers�a�rare�opportunity� to�meet�with�their�counter�parts,�and�get�to�know�each�other�on�a�more�personal�level,�through�group�assignments�and�of�course�the�prerequisite�evening�drinks…��It�also�allowed�the�trainers�to�raise�any�queries�/�issues�to�PQCT�representatives�Eli�Negbi,�Frank�McGrath�and�Avivit�Shechter�from�PQCT�Europe.��

I�would� like� to�take�the�opportunity� to�thank�our�hosts� in�Birmingham,�Phil� Linford,�Tony�Bainbridge�and�Trevor�Kane,�for�making�us�all�feel�welcome.��It�was�truly�a�wonderful�opportunity�to�get�together�and�learn�more�about�our�colleagues�and� their� stations.� � Let’s�hope� this� is�not�a�one�off�and� that� the� future�holds�plenty�more�reasons�for�us�to�get�together.�� ��

ICTS—DRIVING�REASON�TO�CHANGE��During�the�past�8�months�ICTS�UK�has�benefited�from�a�pilot�project,�initiated�by�ICTS�Europe,�to�review�and�develop�our�business�approach�and�thinking.��Having�been�a�successful�organisation�for�many�of�years,�we�are�like�an�athlete�–�we�

need�continual�coaching�and�development�to�ensure�we�are�at�the�top�of�our�game�and�performing�at�our�peak!��John� Harris� (from� Effective)� has� taken� on� the� ICTS� Coaching�Challenge,�and�over�the�last�8�months�John�has�become�one�of�the� family.� � It� has� been� fantastic� to� have� someone� work� so�closely�with�us�throughout�the�business;�to�highlight�our�short�comings� and� also� to� be� part� of� developing� our� skills� to� over�come� these.� � He� has� been� instrumental� in� driving� a� common�language�and�approach� in�our�business�when�considering�how�we� approach� new� business,� work� with� existing� clients� and� fo�cusing� our� resources� in� the� right� areas.� � From� Shaike� to� the�sales� teams� we� are� all� talking� about� the� “driving� reason� for�

change”�–�it�really�is�great!��Individuals�have�benefited�from�one�to�one�coaching�sessions�and�teams�have�come�together�to�review�opportunities�and�support�each�other� in� identifying�the�strengths�and�weaknesses� in�our�plans�and�the�strategies�and�tactics�we�should�employ�to�de�liver�a�first�class�offer�to�clients.��Moving� into� 2010,� John� continues� his� work� with� us� and� we� are� looking� forward� to�learning�more,�implementing�our�skills�and�delivering�success�to�the�business�and�our�clients.���������

On� Thursday� 8th� July,� a�celebration� was� held� at� the�Manchester� station� for� Jill�Sampson�who�was�celebrating�her� 70th� birthday.� The� office�was� decorated� with� banners�and� balloons� and� homemade�canapés� were� served� to� the�partygoers.� Jill�was�presented�with� a� beautiful� bouquet� of�flowers�from�the�Company,�and�her�colleagues�in�the�office�had�put�together�to�buy�her�a�meal�at�a�nearby�Michelin�starred�restaurant.�Jill�is�Manchester’s�Office�

and�Recruitment�Administrator�and�has�been�with�ICTS�for�14�years.��Also�celebrating�at�Manchester�was�Jean�Bamber,�who�was�recognised�for�her�15�years�of�service�with�ICTS.�Jean�works�on�the�Continental�contract�and�all�at�Manchester�appreciate�her�hard�work.�

Kevin�Bull�has�recently�joined�the�Security�Systems�team�as�Sales�Executive.�

�Security�Systems�(previously�know�as�TOPS),� lead�by�Darren�Watson,� is�an� integral�

part�of�General�Security�in�the�UK,�providing�invaluable�operational�support�through�innovative�secu�rity�equipment�and�technical�knowledge.��Kevin�brings�with�him�over�35�years�of�expertise�in�the�security�sector,�having�previously�worked�for�three�of�the�top�security�equipment�providers.�Kevin�started�his�career�as�an�installation�service�engi�neer�with�particular�focus�on�alarm�systems,�later�branching�out�into�the�sales�arena.������������������������������������Kevin’s�track�record�in�sales�has�been�impressive.� �He�has�spearheaded�the�complete�turnaround�of�an� under�achieving� business,� delivering� creditable� success�through� high� levels� of� organic� growth.� His� significant� achieve�ments�have�been�acknowledged,�winning�numerous� team�and�company�awards�(including�an�all�expenses�paid�trip�to�Dubai�in�2005!).��In�his� leisure,�Kevin�enjoys� clay�pigeon� shooting,� the� Japanese�martial�art�of�Jiu�Jitsu,�and�playing�the�saxophone!��We�welcome�Kevin�on�board�and�wish�him�every�success�in�his�career�with�ICTS�UK.��

Paul�Jacomb�joined�ICTS�UK�as�General�Security�Director�on��4th�January�10.�This�newly�created�Board�position�is�a�key�ele�ment� of� the� Group� strategy� to� develop� non�aviation� security.�The� role� will� oversee,� General� Security,� Canine,� and� Security�Systems,� as� well� as� retaining� executive� responsibility� for� busi�ness�development.��Paul�has�a�successful�track�record�within�the�security� industry,�having�previously�held�the�positions�of�Managing�Director�with�both� OCS� (Resolution)� Security,� and� also� Pegasus� Security�Group�(more�latterly�ISS�Pegasus).�He�brings�with�him�a�wealth�of�experience,�and�an� industry�knowledge�which�will�undoubt�edly�be�of�great�benefit�to�ICTS.��Paul�says�"I�have�been�a�long�time�admirer�of�ICTS�as�a�provider�of�aviation�security,�in�which�they�are�clearly� recognised� as� the� benchmark� of� quality.� Whilst� I� previously� knew� little� about� the� ICTS� non�aviation�operations,�the�huge�potential�in�this�area�soon�became�very�evident�to�me.�Not�only�was�I�impressed�by�the�professionalism�of�everyone�working�within�ICTS,�it�was�also�clear�that�there�existed�a�real�feeling�of�pride�within�the�organisation�(a�feeling�few,�if�any,�industry�competitors�can�match).��With�the�inherent�ability�to�offer�fully�integrated�security�solutions,�together�with�a�focused�approach�borne�out�of�the�aviation�experience,�ICTS�have�a�very�real�opportunity�to�take�a�unique,�innovative,�offering�to�market.�I�see�my�role�as�working�closely�with�Shaike�and�the�rest�of�the�team,�to�ensure�we�fulfil�that�potential,�in�order�to�become�recognised�as�the�universal�benchmark�of�excellence�through�out�the�UK�security�industry"�

I�am�just�writing�to�thank�ICTS�for�all�their�assistance�during�the�disruptions�on�9th,�10th�January.���

Saturday�9th�January:��Our�inbound�flight�was�diverted�to�Birmingham�for�refueling�when�Dub�lin�Airport�closed�due�to�heavy�snow�fall.�Unfortunately�our�flight�was�further�delayed�in�Bir�mingham� and� was� eventually� cancelled.� This� was� a� very� long� and� exhausting� day� for� all� in�volved.��

Sunday�10th� January:� �Currently�we�do�not�fly�on�Sundays�from�DUB�so�a�team�had�not�been�rostered� to� cover� an� American� Airlines� flight� that� day.� The� ICTS� Duty� Manager� on� January�9th� �had�made�arrangements�for�a�full�team�of�American�Airlines�trained�ICTS�agents�to�meet�our�unscheduled�flight.�This�was�another�long�day�for�all�involved�as�our�flight�arrived�quite�late�into�Dublin�from�Birmingham.����

During�our�operation�on�the�10th�January,�we�also�received�a�diverted�American�Airlines�flight�on� route� to� Chicago.� The� aircraft� made� an� emergency� landing� for� a� passenger� who� needed�medical�attention.�Again,�the�team�here�ensured�that�agents�were�provided�to�cover�this�flight�while�it�was�on�the�ground.����

Your�team�really� looked�after�us�during�a�time�of�heightened�security�and�challenging�opera�tional�requirements.�I�cannot�credit�them�enough�for�the�professionalism,�dedication�and�cus�tomer�service�they�provided�us�and�our�passengers.��

THE�POWER�OF�THE�DOG�ICTS�UK�Canine�Services�has�been�appointed�by�Magnox�North�Ltd�to�provide�protective�search�ser�vices� to�Wylfa�nuclear� power� station� which� is� located�on�Anglesey� in�North� Wales.�The�area�of�21�hectares�is�covered�by�the�nuclear�site�licence.�Commencing�electricity�generation�in�1971,�it�was�the�last�and�largest�power�station�of�its�type�to�be�built�in�the�UK.��The�ICTS�teams�also�provide�canine�protective�services�to�a�further�7�nuclear�power�stations�in�the�UK�for�British�Energy�part�of�EDF.��The�Nuclear�Industry�is�one�of�the�highest�regulated�industries�in�the�world.�The�ICTS�heritage�in�avia�tion�perfectly�positions�the�company�to�comply�with�the�high�standards�of�compliance�in�the�sector.��The�ICTS�Canine�Division�mission�statement�for�service�to�the�nuclear�industry�states���‘Defend�and�protect� those�sites�and� locations� to�which�we�are�deployed;�with�a�view� to�denying�unauthorized�breaches�by�those�carrying�out�hostile�reconnaissance�or�transporting�explosive�ma�terial�for�the�purpose�of�terrorism.�This�can�be�achieved�by�the�effective�deployment�of�ICTS�special�ist�canine�search�teams’.��Further�deployments�at�the�site�are�planned�but�are�undisclosed�for�security�reasons.�

�ICTS�UK�FOR�THE�CITY�OF�LONDON�

��ICTS�looks�forward�to�a�number�of�new�ventures�in�the�Capital,�affirming�itself�as�a�company�not�only�working�in,�but�also�for,�the�community.��ICTS�UK�is�proud�to�be�a�sponsor�of�the�Child�Victims�of�Crime�(CVoC)�Annual�Charity�Dinner,�due�to�take�place�in�October.�A�table�has�been�booked�for�the�evening,�which�will�commence�with�dinner�followed�by�dancing�and�an�auction.�One�lucky�guest�will�win�the�opportunity�for�a�freefall�parachute�jump�with�the�Red�Devils!��The�CVoC�is�the�UK’s�only�national�police�children’s�charity,�having�been�established�in�1994�in�response�to�the�aftermath�of�the�terrorist�bombing�carried�out� in�Warrington.�The�organisation,�made�up�of�serving�and�re�tired�police�officers,�provides�support�to�children�up�to�the�age�of�16,�who�have�been�a�victim�of,�or�trauma�tised�by,�any�criminal�offence.�Last�year�the�charity�provided�professional�support�to�605�children�and�their�families,�through�the�awarded�of�numerous�gifts�and�financial�donations,�with�the�aim�of�helping�rebuild�bro�ken�lives.��Angela�Aylett,�Business�Development�Manager,�General�Security/ICTS�UK�is�leading�this�initiative.���“After�hearing�Don�Randall�MBE,�Chairman�of�CVoC,�speak�about�the�work�of�the�charity,�I�was�absolutely�thrilled�to�become�involved.��Personally,�and�on�behalf�of�ICTS,�I�am�delighted�that�the�Company�is�raising�its�own�profile�by�contributing�to�this�very�worthwhile�charity”.��ICTS� UK,� having� recently� been� awarded� the� highly� prestigious� contract� for� security� service� delivery� to� the�City’s�iconic�Tower�of�London,�is�quickly�being�recognised�as�one�of�the�leading�suppliers�of�general�security�services�throughout�the�very�demanding�London�market.��

Hi�Noreen�Hedderman:��

Thank�you� for�your� response� to� my� email.� � � I� called�your� lost�properties�number� the�morning� of� the� 28th� and� the� kind� gentlemen� who� answered� the� phone� found� the�bag.� It�was�a�great�relief�to�hear�the�words�“the�luggage�is�here�at�Shannon�Airport.”�He�gave�me�the�number�at�Service�Air�and�they�assured�me�the�bag�would�be�delivered�to�my�daughter�by�2:30�Sept�28.��

After�calling�Aer�Lingus�and�getting�a�very�negative�response�and�denial�of�the�luggage�ever�flying�on�their�airline�(which� it�did�come�into�Shannon�on�flight�133�Air�Lingus)� I�had�emailed�my�daughter�telling�her�I�thought�the�luggage�was�lost�for�good.��

To�hear�that�your�department�does�not�deal�with�lost�luggage�from�a�flight,�yet�did�so�for�me�early�this�morning�is�very�heartwarming.��Words�cannot�express�how�apprecia�tive� I�am�of� the�gentlemen�this�morning�who�came�to�my�aid.�After�5�days�of� frantic�phone�calls�with�Air�Canada,�and� � the�unresponsive�call�with�Air� Lingus,� I� am�so�glad�your�representative�took�the�initiative�to�help.��

Please�thank�the�gentleman�who�helped�me�this�morning.�I�do�not�know�his�name,�but�I�called�at�6:45am�your�time�so�I�am�sure�you�will�know�who�was�on�shift.��

Hi,� my� name� is� Yogaguru� (Vernon).Venugopal� I� have�been�married�for�27�years�to�Susan�and�live�in�Mitcham,�Surrey� with� our� 3� children.� � I� worked� for� 27years� in�Heathrow� for�BAA�until�2006�when� I� took�voluntary� re�dundancy.��In� 2006� I� joined� ICTS� as� a� Cash� Office� Assistant� at� Pad�dington.��Then�in�February�2007�I�started�as�a�T5�Station�Operating�Assistant�and�was�promoted�to�a�Station�Op�erating� Assistant� Supervisor.� � I� have� a� variety� of� duties�which� include� supervising� staff,� liaising� with� manage�ment� teams� from� Paddington,� Heathrow� Express� and�London� Underground� regarding� train� disruptions� and�updates.� � I� am� also� in� charge� of� lost� property,� equip�ment,�Automatic�Fire�Alarm�evacuation,�security�weeps,�recurrent�training�and�six�monthly�appraisals.����I�am�a�self�motivated�person�and�try�to�lead�by�example;�i.e.�punctual,�smartly�dressed�and�professional�to�all.��My�biggest�strengths�are�being�fair�and�honest�to�all�parties.�Even�though�the�hours�are�long,�I�really�enjoy�my�job�as�a�Supervisor�at�T5�Underground�station���I�have�learnt�a�lot�from�ICTS�in�the�last�3�years�and�thank�you�for�all�your�help�especially�Sue,�Andrew,�Kaeda�and�all�my�colleagues.�

�CHARLIE�BRAYSHAW�

1959���2010���Charlie� Brayshaw� our� UK� Cargo� Manager� sadly� passed�away�on�Sunday�18th� July� 2010�after� suffering� �a�heart�attack�whilst�undergoing�treatment�for�Cancer.��Charlie�will�be�missed�by�all�who�knew�him�as�he�was�a�larger�than�life�character�who�always�had�a�smile�and�a�pleasant� word,� and� was� respected� throughout� the�Company.��

Charlie�joined�the�German�subsidiary�of�ICTS,�(FIS)��and�was�a�manager�at�the�Munich�Station�before�moving� back� to� the� UK� in� 1996� when� he� assisted� in� the� start� up� of� the� ICTS� /� American� Airways�operation�at�our�London�Heathrow�station.��Charlie�moved�on�to�the�LHR�Cargo�dept�in�1998�as�LHR�Cargo�Operations�Manager�and�became�the�UK� Cargo� Manager� in� 2000.� � Under� his� steady� direction� the� Cargo� dept.� grew� to� a� successful�operation�leading�the�industry�with�high�professional�standards.����Charlie�became�a�leading�figure�in�the�development�of�Rascargo�in�the�UK�and�was�respected�for�his�in�depth�professional�knowledge�on�the�industry.��Charlie�leaves�his�wife�Danni�and�two�children�to�whom�we�offer�our�deepest�condolences�for�their�loss.�
