Dear Friends in Rotary,

I accompanied the DG on his official visits to clubs. The affection, love and hospitality by Rotarians and spouses is exceptional and I am deeply touched.

Although I hail from Kolar, I had no opportunity to visit temples and other places of interest in Kolar, and this got accom-plished during the official visits to Kolar district clubs. It was very gratifying.

I enjoyed the International nite organised by Rotary East and The Hockey tournament organised by Rotary Indira-nagar. The fashion show organised by Rotary Southwest rounded off a month which took me on a journey from spiritual to the fashion world via Switzerland and also pumped up by sporting energy. Where else can you have such diverse pursuits passionately combined but in Rotary!

Thank you Friends

Yours in RotaryAnn. Srimathi

Rotary Bangalore West would identify rural schools as the nodal

Our District will be sending two teams to R.I. Districts 5080 and 5100 comprising states of Washington and Idaho in U.S.A & British Columbia in Canada during April, May, June 2011. GSE Sub-Committee has invited applications from candidates who are non-rotarians in the age group of 25 to 40 years. They must be dynamic in their approach and have knowledge about Indian history and culture. Rotarians are requested to disseminate this infor-mation in their circle of friends and relatives.

surgeries for those who had no other chance of getting them done. It was heartening to note on this count that the Clinic on Sunday, 29th August a good number of our clan visited and helped a lot.

Thanks to the efforts in letting know the needy about the camp, we had over 200 persons showing interest and more than 125 of them turning up on the screening day of the camp and another 20 trickling in on other days. With some of them being rejected on health conditions, the Rotaplast could schedule just over

hundred for the surgery. The Hospital has promised to take care of the rest, by fitting them into free surgery through their own consultant Plastic Surgeon over the next few months. With most of the camp days being surgery days, RBN Rtns took additional care of counseling the patients and their parents, helping them overcome the nervousness of the unknown.

The inauguration and valedictory function had their pomp and glory and this report, being one that confines to the social nature of the camp and not about the ceremonial part of it, skips the details, leaving the appropriate Club Officer to tell you all about it. Inside :

Dear Rotary leaders,

September is the new generation's month. In this month we rededicate ourselves to help provide leadership opportunities for the new generation. We have done it in right earnest as this year is the maiden year of new generations as the fifth avenue of service. We had a well conducted unique and enjoyable ICGF on club service at Kanakapura in August. My congratulations to the president, ICGF chair & all the members of Rotary Kanakapura & District Director PPRtn. HR Ananth.

The installations in all the clubs have been completed. I am happy to note that every club has started executing projects under various avenues of service.

I am delighted to inform you that many of our matching grant projects have been approved. It is time we start working on these projects, if not done already. Please prioritise your projects and I would urge upon all clubs to chalk out an action plan. I am impressed by the uniqueness of the service projects undertaken by the clubs. I would like to congratulate all the AGs, District Officers and club leaders for the efforts to make the rotary movement this strong and predominant.

During my visit to the clubs, my wife and I are being received with warmth and friendship. We are indeed thankful for this.

We have taken technology in our stride. We are planning to start an e- club this year. It is heartening to note that many clubs have become E-savvy.

We celebrated Ganesha Chaturthi and Id on the same day this month. My wife Srimathi joins me in wishing each one of you

and your family all the happiness and prosperity in the coming months. I am sure that our drive to i n t e n s i f y B U I L D I N G COMMUNITIES BRIDGING CONTINENTS will get a boost in the days ahead
