• Philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.• Set up to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program• Flagship program of Bharti Foundation.• It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.• Goal to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students

• Present Operational Status• Number of Schools Operational:250• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & West Bengal • Number of Students Enrolled: Over 36,000

About the Community

• Geographical Location

• Situated in north from Mahendergarh district and Seven Kilo meter from

District head quarter

• Semi dessert area

• Water level – 300 Ft.

• Cultural Background of Community

• Major Cast – Gurjjar, Yadav, Sharma etc.

• Major source of earning – Got raring, Agriculture labour

• Population – 2460, House Hold – 260

• Girl Child Ratio – 47 %

We ‘Felt’:

• Around 50 % parent take alcohol on regular basis

• Due too this people are very poor

• Crimes are also increasing

• It increases domestic violence

• Use of alcohol has adversely impacted village Kharkharawas

We ‘Imagined’

• Alcohol free village

• Together as a team we can change our parents mentality

• We can save our village and improve livelihood

• we want to change is use of liquor by village people and

aware about its worse causes and effects

We ‘Did’• We took responsibility to gain faith of ladies to remove and reduce this

social issue and we have done lots of nukkad nataks, short term plays at village ‘chopaal’

• Slogans used by us impact to villagers specially males and they did promise with us that they will not take biddies and any other liquor

We ‘Did’

Impact on Community:• 30 Parent took oath to give up liquor • Parent appreciated student’s initiative

Impact on “Us”• Cost analysis of due to liquor opened our eyes against evil of liquor• We will always motivate our parents to stop use of liquor

• Parent will be sensitized in PTM against evil of drinking

• Regular emphasis will given on awareness generation to stop
