• Philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.• Set up to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program• Flagship program of Bharti Foundation.• It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.• Goal to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students

• Present Operational Status• Number of Schools Operational:250• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & West Bengal • Number of Students Enrolled: Over 36,000

About the Community

Geographical Location:

•Kalwari village is situated in north east 16 K.M. from district

Mahendergarh.

•Sandy soil.Socio- Economic Background:

• Major casts are : Ahir, Chamar, Kumhar, Khati, Brahaman,etc.

• Dominating castes : Ahir

•Main source of earning is agriculture, animal husbandry, labor, etc.

• Population : 1845, Literacy Rate: 46%

We ‘Feel’:

We notice that the community members are not aware about health and hygiene. The condition of streets are so bad that people are unable to cross the path without involving in dust or waste of houses. Diseases are spreading due to the water stored in the streets. In last three months near about 15 students were attacked by malaria.

We ‘Imagined’

We imagine that our village should clean. All the members should aware about health and hygiene. All member should use dust bean at home as well as in community. The waste of houses should be disposed of properly. The village should diseases free. Every person will take and understand his responsibility to keep the surrounding clean.

We ‘Did’

Students of Satya Bharti School took initiative to clean the village .

Community member started to work when they saw that small children working for the betterment of village

Impact on Community:

Community members were very impressed when they saw that so small students are working to keep the environment clean, they felt ashamed and regret for their ignorance. They took an oath that in future they will fulfill their duties and keep the surrounding clean.

Impact on “Us”

•Students felt leadership quality .•Students start initiating on “awareness of social evil” in the community.•Our students will become responsible citizen.•Community realized that their children are getting real education.

Two persons were assigned duty by panchyat to keep the drains clean.Our school will be role modal for health & hygiene for community.
