Rite of Christian Initiation

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is designed for

those who are not baptized or who have been baptized in

another faith tradition and wish to enter the Catholic Church.

ARE YOU HEARING A QUIET STILL VOICE WITHIN, urging you to

learn more about the Catholic faith? Do you find yourself

coming to Mass and wanting to be more involved in the

community? Do you long for a deeper relationship with

God? For more information, call us 8047378028 or email us at

[email protected]

Message of the Bishop, from the Desk of the Administrator

On behalf of the Diocese, the bishop wants to extend his deepest gratitude and congratulations to all

parishioners of Sts. Peter and Patrick for exceeding their 2021 Annual Diocesan Appeal target, and St.

John who nearly made it with 72.49% of goal vs target collected (leaving a balance of 2,295 yet to be

paid by those who pledged), despite the challenges of the past year.

I am pretty sure St John will also meet its goal next time. And as the bishop puts it; "your generous gifts

are helping us to engage the next generation, provide for those in need and build catholic communi-

ties in many important ways throughout the diocese."

Remember what St. Paul reminds us; "we are a family of faith called to build up one another in faith,

hope and love." (His letters to the Corinthians and Galatians).

God bless you all.

Father Maxwell

ATTENTION We are looking for adult choir members! Singers and/or in-strumentalists welcomed. If you are interested or have any questions, please email [email protected] or talk with Katie (pink haired lady) after masses. St. John's first rehearsal is on Tuesday 9/14 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in the music room (and will be 2 Tuesdays each month from 5:30pm - 7:30pm). We hope to see you there!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SACRISTANS

We are planning to start a new ministry as a sacristan. The sacristan would be responsible

for setting up and cleaning up after the weekend Masses. It would require coming to

church at least one-half hour before Mass begins in order to set up the vessels (ciborium,

chalice, etc) and to clean up after Mass [removing the vessels from the altar to the sacris-

ty, washing them and putting them away). A training session will be held in the near fu-

ture. This will not be a weekly commitment but you will be put on a list of sacristans and

assigned when it is your week. This is a new way to serve God and your church.

Please let me know ASAP whether or not you would be interested.

Until this ministry is set up, we will continue to have the Eucharist Minister set up on their

assigned week.

Thank you for your continued support.

FIRST DAY OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES

SEPTEMBER 19th

Religious Education classes will start Sunday September 19th at

10:30 am, we will have the opening ceremony for a wonderful

new school year in the Social Hall. CATECHETICAL SUNDAY

This year, the Church will celebrate Catechetical Sunday

on September 19, 2021 under the theme of “Say the Word and

My Soul Shall Be Healed.” On this day, catechists are formally

commissioned for ministry to the community. Catechetical Sun-

day is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each

baptized person plays in handing on the faith and being a wit-

ness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mis-
