TRANSCRIPT

The expressed purpose of the residence life program here at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is to foster self-development, good citi-

zenship, and democratic principles. These goals are accomplished through the acquisition of decision-making skills on the part of the student and through the emulation and promotion of values inclusive of respect for

fellow students, honesty and the involvement of students in the residence hall governing structure. The residence life program also seeks to create an environment of understanding and appreciation for the values of stu-

dents from diverse backgrounds. It is through the development of this kind of sensitivity that students grow personally, which impacts directly on other program purposes of citizenship and emulation of democratic prin-

ciples set forth in the College’s mission and purpose.

We are living his dream... For indeed, he wanted everyone to be equal and to enjoy the same benefits and opportuni-ties..

Since August 28, 1963 we have been living out Martin Luther King Jr’ s dream. Here at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, we have a di-versity of students, faculty and staff who coexist with one an-other. We are able to accept

each other as a person. All

of us enjoy reaping the treasures of each others own uniqueness. To be able to talk to one an-other, and to learn from one another, and to look past the color of our skin is what Martin Luther King Jr. wanted.

New Year’s Resolutions Happy New Year!

Recently, I went around the campus asking students what New Year’s Resolutions they may have made for 2012. Losing weight and saving money were at the top of the list. Also on the list, and as expected, to get better grades this semester than last semester, to graduate from Stevens, and to get a great job. Hopefully all of these resolutions will come to pass.

Make 2012 your best year yet!

The Future of Athletics …. January 18th 2012

By Jerry Martinez, Sophomore, Business Administration

Recently, I had the pleasure of talking with Mr. Chris Metzler about his search for a new Bulldog’s Head Football Coach. At the time of my conversation, Mr. Metzler had 4 candidates for the position, but he wanted to keep their names confidential. He also said that he is still accepting applications for the job. “It is going to be dif-ficult to replace a great coach like Coach Wysock, but we will certainly do our best.” said Mr. Metzler. Then I asked him his thoughts on the future of the football team itself. Mr. Metzler replied “Hopefully we can bringing in some talented play-ers from across the state, and we should have some excellent players who are re-turning, that were all conference at their positions this year.” Mr. Metzler certainly has a lot of faith in our returning players. My last question was, “Do you see Thad-deus Stevens winning another Championship?” He didn't have an answer to that question, but I could tell by his smile, that he was confident in the successful future of Stevens athletics.
