* From December 2014 till Now:FAST CONSORTIUM Riyadh Metro Alliance (7.8 billion $)The FAST-Consortium has been awarded with an EPC-Contract for Package 3 of the Riyadh Metro. This Package consists of lines 4, 5 and 6 and includes design, civil works, and track works, delivery of trains and testing and commissioning of the complete system. The FAST-Consortium is a Consortium formed by the following companies:FCC (Spain), Samsung (South-Korea), Strukton (Netherlands), Freyssinet (Saudi-Arabia), Alstom (France), Typsa (Spain), Setec (France), Atkins (England)

The civil works in this Package are mainly divided into:1. Preparatory Works (Surveys, Utility-diversions, Traffic Diversions), 2. Viaducts, 3. Tunnels (bored and C&C), 4. Stations (elevated, underground and at-grade), 5. Park& Rides,6. M&E,7. Landscape and streetscape,

Responsibilities:I am working as a Quantity Surveyor & Subcontract Civil Engineer in FAST Consortium Head Office & my responsibilities are: -Reviewing / assess technical specification, BOQ (Bill of Quantity) and drawings to determine suitable vendors and suppliers.- Preparing & issuing the contracts in accordance with selected subcontractor, price and technical specifications.-Reviewing the Quantities submitted by the subcontractors & the tender quantities.-Coordinate various technical reviews with the project.-Analyzing and evaluate all purchasing requisitions to ensure clarity and completeness in description of material and equipment.- reviewing vendors and suppliers quotations to determine best price and deliver date.-preparing and issue requests for quotations to qualified vendors as per company’s approved vendor list.-Reviewing quotations of identified technical and commercial specifications received from the vendors and suppliers.-Preparing & issuing purchase orders in accordance with selected suppliers, price and technical specifications.- Negotiation with suppliers to ensure that target prices, company’s terms and conditions are met.-Detailed planning and reporting activities related to procurement.-Preparing comparative analyses documents related to specs, price, delivery conditions and mode of transportation.

Scope of project: Sluiceway: 8 radial gates, 17m wideHydropower plant: 4 turbines x 8MW2 navigation locks: 120 x 17m chamberClosure dam: embankment type, 11m highRehabilitation of the existing navigation lock at Nile River.Rehabilitation of the existing Ibrahimiya head regulator.

Responsibilities:Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineer)- Interim applications for payment (Bi monthly interim certificates)- Negotiation with Client’s Engineer/QS to get timely certification of interim applications and issue of Interim Payment Certificates within the period stipulated by the contract;- Following up with Client to get payment of Interim Certificates within the period stipulated by the contract.

Maintaining a variations log that tracks the current status of all variations;- Timely issuing of notices required by the contract in respect of variations to the Client/Client’s Engineer/Client’s QS;- Timely issuing of details of cost implications of variations to the Client/Client’s Engineer/Client’s QS. Interim particulars must be submitted in accordance with the contract;- Substantiation, negotiation and agreement of variations with the Client/Client’s Engineer/Client’s QS.- Identification of changes/variations to the contract;
