Voltage drop calculationAs most motors are designed to operate with a 2.5% to 5%voltage drop, divide volts lost by line voltage to determine if alarger conductor or additional feed points are required.See tables for values of Z and R.

3 phase AC Volts lost = 1. 73 x Z x Length in feet from feed x Ampere load

Determining amperageThe national electric code suggests loads:

1. For one motor, use 100% of motor nameplate full loadampere rating.

2. For multiple motors on a single crane or hoist, the minimumcircuit ampacity of the power supply conductors on a crane orhoist shall be the nameplate full load ampere rating of the largestmotor or group of motors for any single crane motion, plus 50%of the nameplate full load ampere rating of the next largest motoror group of motors.

3. For multiple cranes and/or hoists supplied by a commonconductor system, compute the motor minimum ampacity foreach crane as in step (2), add them together and multiply thesum by the demand factor from the following table:

4. For constant loads such as magnets, lights, and airconditioners, etc., plus high duty cycles, use full load amperage,in selecting conductor size.

Number of cranes Demand factor2 .953 .914 .875 .846 .817 .78

Notes1Nominal current is based on 30°C and is for 100% duty.2Weight includes both the rail material and the insulating cover. 3AC impedance is measured in Ohms/Ft. and is based on 30°C and the largest typical rail centers. Please adjust as necessary forother ambient temperatures and/or rail centers. 4DC Resistance is measured in Ohms/Ft. and is based on 30°C and the largest typical rail centers. Please adjust as necessary forother ambient temperatures and/or rail centers. 5Maximum nominal voltage is based o n standard materials. For higher voltage applications, please consult the factory.

CautionPlease observe the following safety recommendations when selecting, installing or maintaining any conductor bar system.Regulations: Please ensure the system is selected, located and installed in accordance all relevant local, state and federalstandards and regulations and that unauthorized personnel do not have access to any part of the system when energized. Electrical Connections: Please ensure all electrical connections, including connection to the conductor bar power feed and installation and connection of the current collectors is conducted by an experienced and qualified personnel.Lock-Out: During installation and/or service, please always lock out/tag out all electrical power before commencing any workson or around the conductor bar system.4

Delta Timing Group, Inc.adobe photoshop | illustrator | indesign

This is an update from the first brochure that we designed. these brochures are used primarily at conventions, where this company is in close competition for business with other similar companies.

After talking with this client, we decided that an unusual size, though more costly to print, would be effective in and of itself to stand out above other competitor’s brochures and marketing material.

When the first brochure was completed, they commented that none of their brochures were seen in trash containers at the conventions, thus they felt these brochures were a huge success.

This update incorporated the use of their logo icon and involved heavy use of their corporate colors and fonts.

All photos were supplied, however extensive photoshopping and editing was used to create the scene on this cover.

Wampfler had contacted us to design several of a series of catalogs for their american division. All of the catalogs were to highlight each of their products, which are mostly for heavy machinery or industrial purposes.

These catalogs contain a great amount of technical information, so it was important to keep the look simple and consistent throughout.

This particular example was an overview of four different series of rail systems, each series having its own section. Also featured is an introduction overview at the beginning of the catalog, which summarizes and compares the basic features of each of the series.

Fasco Americaadobe indesign

Fasco america needed a more attractive and easy to understand catalog for online download. Eventually, they will translate this into a printed version, with some minor modifications.

Because this catalog is for online use and will be printed in the home or office, we intentionally created this without the use of spreads or folds, and designed to fit on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

Though this is just a product listing, we wanted a bold, clean and attractive cover to showcase some of their products, brand their company, and provide contact information to order.

Inside, all information was arranged logically using color, font, and lines to separate products and ease the eye.

This catalog is 50 pages.

Anatolia Cafe, Lee Road, Clevelandadobe photoshop

This 8.5” x 14” menu design includes 6 cover panel variations of the same design look, as well as 5 menu panels.

The design look was chosen to showcase the restaurant’s vibrant, colorful atmosphere and delicious Turkish cuisine, all based on my experience at the restaurant, extensive research on Anatolia and Turkey, and meeting the owner in person.

The owner requested that all designs were created using Adobe Photoshop.

Boise Kidney & Hypertension Instituteadobe illustrator

This logo’s icon was created using research on kindeys and the kindey’s function in the human body.

If you look closely you will see a system of arteries and veins that run side-to-side from each kidney, and cross at the body’s center to run up and down the body.

The font is simple and fresh.

City Life Developmentadobe illustrator

This firm based in Washington DC is involved in urban renewal.

After research, it was discovered that Washington DC does not have a tall skyline like in most cities of similar size, thus the logo attempts to keep consistent with the area’s architecture, in a contemporary fashion.

The red lines and arrows encompass an entire block, or neighborhood, and often the renewal is from the ground up. The color red is also used to specify life.

Johnson Funeral Homeadobe illustrator

To decide on a look for this family business’ new logo, we looked through a national funeral home directory with the client to find examples of what looks were exhausted and common, and what elements of other funeral home’s logos they liked.

The final design was fashioned with a mix of classic and fresh. Eventually, they want to drop the name and use the icon in their branding.

Kinergy Building Servicesadobe illustrator

The owners of this cleaning service company hold strong ties to their celtic heritage. upon request, we researched celtic symbols, to be used within this logo as well as within their stationery and business cards.

The colors were selected by the client after presenting several color combinations. they requested bright, clean and vibrant colors.
