Introduction

National Testing Service–Pakistan (NTS) is Pakistan's first self-

sustained testing organization, which administers tests and

assessments for admission, scholarship, recruitment and promotion

purposes. NTS also contributes in Human Resource Development

(HRD) by organizing training and capacity building sessions, and

conducts Research & Development (R&D) specifically in the field of educational testing and evaluation.

NTS was established in July 2002, in response to expressed need for atesting service in the National Education Policy (1998-2010) and the

Information Technology (IT) Policy of Government of Pakistan (GoP).

By June 2012, NTS assessed proficiency of over 3.0 million

individuals who appeared in various disciplines for their future

educational and professional progression.

Having completed ten years, NTS is now playing a pivotal role in

promoting merit and quality education not only to the educational

sector but also to the public and private sector organizations. NTS

tests and assessments are now pre-requisite of many prime public and

private sector engineering, medical and other professional colleges, universities and institutions for admission and recruitment purposes. The ever promised objective of NTS is to offer affordable,

standardized and reliable tests for all individuals who wish to rise.

NTS always strives for excellence and ensures quality, efficiency, reliability, accuracy and most significantly

credibility of entire system in a transparent manner under strict security arrangements. This is transpired

because of intellectual and academic collaboration of stakeholders from different universities and

professional organizations including, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Higher

Education Commission (HEC), and associates serving in different public and private sector entities of Pakistan.

NTS, an ISO 9001:2008 certified and a member of the International Association for Educational Assessment

(IAEA)-USA organization, has made further marks by receiving international attention for partnerships with

some of the most renowned agencies worldwide, including ETS-USA, CITO, B.V. Netherlands.
