KUSI Salute to Military Families

Over 600 local families gathered at the San Diego ArmedServices YMCA on Monday, November 22nd and receivedfree bags of food, including fresh produce, as a part of MariaShrivers Million Meals Food Distribution. It was an honor towelcome Maria Shriver to the San Diego Armed Services

YMCA for this event. The ASYMCA would also like to thankthe San Diego Food Bank for their participation and ongoing

support for local military families.

This past VeteransDay, KUSI recog-nized one militaryfamily aboard theMidway. In apprecia-tion for their service,the Holley Familywas presented witha $200 gift card toFresh & Easy and abeautiful Dining Ta-ble Set donated byUSA Discounters.

Turkey Giveaway

Vons and SCEA put together an AMAZING BBQ for mili-tary families on November 18th. Vons and SCEA volun-teers starting setting up and grilling at 7am that morningto make sure thedelicious tri tipswere ready for the500 military andfamily membersthat attended theBBQ. Thank you

On the afternoon of November 23rd, 160 tur-

keys were delivered to the San Diego ArmedServices YMCA to be distributed to militaryfamilies just in time for Thanksgiving. Charg-ers, Brandyn Dombrowski and Louis Vasquez,helped hand out the turkeys to families whowere eager to meet and take pictures with thetwo Chargers. The San Diego Armed Services

12 military volunteers spent Thanksgiving Day at SunriseSenior Living Center in La Jolla. Volunteers visited andplayed games with the residents, and enjoyed a Thanks-giving lunch with the residents, staff, and families.
